Why is my Bissell Vacuum Cleaner not picking up dirt?
- MMichael ThompsonAug 12, 2025
If your Bissell Vacuum Cleaner won’t pick up dirt, several factors could be at play. First, ensure that the dirt tank is empty and properly installed. Check for clogs or debris buildup in the inner tank, hose, and foot/lower hose. Also, make sure the hose is firmly attached to the suction opening. Dirty filters can also cause this issue, so check and clean or replace the pre-motor and post-motor filters. Adjust the foot to the correct height setting. If the hose has a crack or hole, it should be replaced. Finally, a jammed brush roll may be the culprit; remove the brush and clean any debris from the brush ends.
