  If your Bissell Vacuum Cleaner isn't spraying properly, first, refill the formula & water tank. If that doesn't work, turn the power OFF, then remove and reseat the tank completely. If you are using the portable spot cleaning mode, the pump may have lost its prime; hold the end of the hose below the water level in the tank to prime it. Also, ensure the portable spot cleaner is attached completely by pushing down firmly.

Why does my Bissell Vacuum Cleaner have no suction?

  A loss of suction power in your Bissell Vacuum Cleaner can occur for several reasons. The tanks may not be seated properly; pick up both tanks and reseat them so they fit snugly on the unit. The nozzles may not be assembled properly; unplug the unit and check to make sure the "lip" of the nozzle cover is securely hooked into the groove on the top of the nozzle. Also, make sure the portable spot cleaner is attached completely. The dirty tank might have reached the full line, so try emptying the dirty tank. Ensure the formula & water tank is not empty and that the suction gate is closed.

Why isn't the DirtLifter® PowerBrush turning on my Bissell PROHEAT 2X LIFT-OFF 1560?

  Several factors can prevent the DirtLifter® PowerBrush from turning. First, ensure the portable spot cleaner is fully attached. The brushes will only rotate when the unit is reclined using the recline pedal. Check if the circuit breaker on the machine has tripped; if so, turn the machine OFF, unplug it, and check for any foreign objects caught in the brush roll. Remove any obstruction and plug the machine back in to reset the breaker. Also, make sure the dirty tank is not full, and the formula & water tank is not empty. Pick up both tanks and reseat them so they fit snugly on the unit. Finally, unplug the unit and check to make sure the "lip" of the nozzle cover is securely hooked into the groove on the top of the nozzle.

  If the DirtLifter® PowerBrush on your Bissell Vacuum Cleaner isn't turning, here are a few things to check: Ensure the portable spot cleaner is attached completely. The brushes only rotate when the unit is reclined using the recline pedal, so check the position of the unit. There might be a tripped circuit breaker on the machine; turn the machine OFF, unplug it, check for any foreign objects caught in the brush roll, remove them, and then plug the machine back in to reset the circuit breaker. Finally, the belt may be off or broken; turn the power OFF, unplug the unit, and follow the instructions on page 13.

  The heater indicator light on your Bissell Vacuum Cleaner may not illuminate if the power is not turned ON; the power must be ON to activate the heater indicator light. Also, make sure the portable spot cleaner is attached completely by pushing down firmly.
