Why is my Bissell Vacuum Cleaner spot cleaner not picking up the cleaning solution?
    • S
      Sharon DudleyJul 31, 2025
If your Bissell Vacuum Cleaner spot cleaner isn't picking up the cleaning solution, there might be several reasons: * The upholstery/carpet tool position may be poor. Try repositioning the tool on the surface, following the recommended cleaning procedures. * The dirty water tank could be full. Empty the dirty water tank. * The upholstery/carpet tool brush might be worn. Replace it with a new brush. * There might be excess solution in the flex hose. Lift the tool and point it upwards to allow water in the hose to flow into the dirty water tank. * You may be using the incorrect cleaning formula. Be sure to use BISSELL 2X Portable Machine formulas only.

If you're experiencing reduced or no spray from your Bissell Vacuum Cleaner, consider these possible causes: * The spray nozzle may be clogged. Try cleaning it using an unfolded paper clip. * The clean water/solution tank might be empty. Check and fill the tank as needed. * The clean water/solution tank insert could be clogged. Clean the insert at the bottom of the clean water/solution tank. * The pump may need priming.
