Why is my BLACKMER TLGLF3C Water Pump capacity reduced?
    • C
      cboydAug 5, 2025
There are several potential reasons for reduced capacity in your BLACKMER Water Pump. The pump speed might be too low, or the internal control valve may not be fully open. There could be excessive restriction in the inlet line due to undersized piping, too many elbows and fittings, or a clogged strainer. Damaged or worn parts like vanes, cylinder, or rotor can also cause this issue. Other possible causes include excessive restriction in the discharge line, a worn or improperly set relief valve, an external bypass valve set too low, operating without a vapor return line, incorrectly installed vanes, or a liner installed backwards.

Why is my BLACKMER Water Pump making noise?
    • L
      lchambersAug 12, 2025
Several issues can cause noise in your BLACKMER Water Pump. These include excessive pressure drop due to undersized or restricted fittings in the inlet line, pump speed being too fast, or the pump being too far from the fluid source. Running the pump for extended periods with a closed discharge line can also cause noise. Other potential causes are: 1. The pump not being securely mounted. 2. An improper drive line in truck-mounted pumps. 3. Misalignment of pump, reducer, or motor in base-mounted pumps. 4. Worn or damaged bearings. 5. Vibration from improperly anchored piping. 6. A bent shaft or misaligned drive coupling. 7. An excessively worn rotor. 8. A malfunctioning valve in the system. 9. A relief valve setting that is too low. 10. A liner installed backwards. 11. Damaged vanes.

What causes damaged vanes in BLACKMER TLGLF3C Water Pump?
    • E
      Elizabeth RoachAug 20, 2025
Damaged vanes in your BLACKMER Water Pump can result from several causes, including foreign objects entering the pump, running the pump dry for extended periods, cavitation, or excessive heat. Other potential causes include worn or bent push rods, worn push rod holes, hydraulic hammer (pressure spikes), incorrectly installed vanes, or incompatibility with the liquids pumped.

What causes a broken shaft in BLACKMER Water Pump?
    • T
      Todd HamiltonAug 27, 2025
A broken shaft in your BLACKMER Water Pump can occur due to foreign objects entering the pump, the relief valve not opening, or hydraulic hammer (pressure spikes). Misalignment of the pump/driver or driveline/drive shaft can also cause this issue, as can excessively worn vanes or vane slots.
