Why won't my Blue Rhino Grill burner light with the igniter?
    • M
      Mary LucasAug 12, 2025
Several factors can prevent your Blue Rhino Grill burner from lighting with the igniter. It could be due to a low or empty LP gas tank, which requires a replacement. A gas leak could also be the cause; in this case, disconnect the LP gas tank, wait 5 minutes, reconnect it, and check for leaks. Other potential issues include ashes covering the bottom bowl and ash pan (clear them of ashes), cooking residue on the wires or electrode (clean with rubbing alcohol), wet electrode and burners (wipe them dry), a cracked or broken electrode, a loose or disconnected wire, a shorting wire, or a bad igniter. For issues with the electrode, wire, or igniter, replacement parts may be needed, and you should contact Customer Care at 1.800.694.0013.

What to do if my Blue Rhino GBT1860L burner won't light with a match?
    • C
      cassandra28Aug 16, 2025
If your Blue Rhino Grill burner won't light with a match, it could be due to several reasons. First, check if the LP gas tank is empty and replace it if needed. If the tank isn't empty, there might be a gas leak; disconnect the LP gas tank, wait 5 minutes for the gas to clear, reconnect it, and then check for leaks. Also, ensure the coupling nut and regulator are fully connected by hand-tightening them. Obstructions of gas flow, spider webs or insect nests in the venturi, or a clogged burner port can also prevent lighting. Clear any obstructions, clean the burner/venturi tube, and clean the burner port.

What to do if flame goes out on my Blue Rhino GBT1860L Grill?
    • B
      Brian SmithAug 20, 2025
If the flame on your Blue Rhino Grill goes out, it could be due to high or gusting winds (do not use the griddle in high winds), low LP gas (replace the LP gas tank), or a tripped overflow valve. For a tripped overflow valve, refer to the section on 'Sudden drop in gas flow or reduced flame height'.

What to do if my Blue Rhino Grill has a flare-up?
    • M
      Michelle GreeneAug 25, 2025
If your Blue Rhino Grill experiences a flare-up, it could be due to grease buildup (remove and clean all griddle parts), excess fat in the meat (trim fat before cooking), or an excessive cooking temperature (adjust to a lower temperature).

Why is the flame yellow or orange on my Blue Rhino GBT1860L?
    • L
      lisa82Aug 27, 2025
A yellow or orange flame on your Blue Rhino Grill might be due to a few reasons. If it's a new burner, it may have residual manufacturing oils, which can be resolved by operating the griddle for 15 minutes on high. Other causes include spider webs or insect nests in the burner/venturi tube (clean the burner/venturi tube), food residue or grease on the burner (clean the burner), or poor alignment of the valve to the burner/venturi tube (ensure proper engagement).

What causes a persistent grease fire in Blue Rhino GBT1860L Grill?
    • E
      eric70Aug 30, 2025
A persistent grease fire in your Blue Rhino Grill is likely caused by grease trapped by food buildup around the burner system. To resolve this, turn the control knob to the 'OFF' position, let the fire burn out, and after the griddle cools, remove and clean all griddle parts.
