Why won't my Blue Rhino Grill burner light with the igniter?
    • P
      Paul FernandezAug 16, 2025
Several factors can prevent your Blue Rhino Grill burner from lighting with the igniter. It could be due to a low or empty LP gas tank, which requires a replacement. Alternatively, there might be an LP gas leak; in this case, turn the LP gas tank valve to the “OFF” position, wait 5 minutes, and then follow the “Checking for Leaks” instructions. Other potential causes include ashes covering the bottom bowl and ash pan (clear them of ashes), cooking residue on the wires or electrode (clean with rubbing alcohol), or wet electrodes and burners (wipe them dry). If the electrode is cracked or broken, the wire is loose, disconnected, or shorting, or if the igniter is bad, replacement parts may be needed, so contact Customer Care at 1.800.694.0013.

What to do if my Blue Rhino CrossFire GBT1709LR burner won't light with a match?
    • M
      Michelle BrownSep 12, 2025
If your Blue Rhino Grill burner won't light with a match, it could be due to several reasons. There might be no gas flow (check if the LP gas tank is empty and replace if necessary; if not, refer to “Sudden drop in gas flow or reduced flame height”). Other potential causes include a low or empty LP gas tank (replace the tank), an LP gas leak (turn the LP gas tank valve to “OFF”, wait 5 minutes, and follow the “Checking for Leaks” instructions), a coupling nut and regulator not fully connected (tighten by hand only), an obstruction of gas flow (clear the burner/venturi tube), spider webs or insect nests in the venturi (clean the burner/venturi tube), or clogged or blocked burner ports (clean the burner ports).

      coxanthonyAug 26, 2025

Why is the flame on my Blue Rhino CrossFire GBT1709LR yellow or orange?
    • R
      rgreenAug 28, 2025
A yellow or orange flame on your Blue Rhino Grill could be due to several reasons: new burners may have residual manufacturing oils (operate the grill for 15 minutes on high with the lid closed), spider webs or insect nests in the burner/venturi tube (clean the burner/venturi tube), food residue or grease on the burners (clean the burners), or poor alignment of the valve to the burner/venturi tube (ensure proper engagement).

A persistent grease fire in your Blue Rhino Grill is likely caused by grease trapped by food buildup around the burner system.
