How to fix poor cooling performance in Blueridge Air Handlers?
    • S
      Samantha HamiltonAug 18, 2025
If your Blueridge Air Handler isn't cooling well, several factors could be the cause. First, ensure that your temperature setting is lower than the ambient room temperature. Next, inspect and clean the heat exchanger on both the indoor and outdoor units if they're dirty. Also, clean the air filter according to the provided instructions. Check for any blockages at the air inlet or outlet of either unit, and remove any obstructions. Ensure all doors and windows are closed to prevent warm air from entering, and reduce heat generated by sunlight by closing windows and curtains. Minimize the number of heat sources in the room, such as computers or electronics. Finally, check for refrigerant leaks and replenish if necessary.

The indoor and outdoor units of your Blueridge Air Handlers may produce a low hissing sound during operation, which is normal due to refrigerant gas flowing through them. A similar sound may occur when the system starts, stops, or is defrosting, caused by the refrigerant gas stopping or changing direction. Squeaking sounds can also occur due to the normal expansion and contraction of plastic and metal parts caused by temperature changes during operation.
