Overview

The BLUETTI AC180 is a portable power station designed to provide reliable green energy storage solutions for both indoor and outdoor use. It is ideal for various applications such as camping, van life, and as a backup power source for essential devices.

Function Description

The AC180 serves as a versatile power hub, featuring an 1800W pure sine wave inverter and a 1152Wh LiFePO4 battery. It offers multiple output options to power a wide range of electronics and appliances. These include two AC output ports (four for EU version), five USB ports (four USB-A and one USB-C), a 12V/10A cigarette lighter port for vehicle devices, and a wireless charging pad for compatible electronics like phones, headphones, and Bluetooth speakers.

For recharging, the AC180 supports multiple input methods. It can be charged via a standard wall outlet with up to 1440W AC input, solar panels with up to 500W DC input, a car's cigarette lighter port, or a generator. This flexibility ensures that the device can be replenished in various environments, from home to off-grid locations.

The device also integrates Bluetooth connectivity, allowing users to monitor and control the power station through the BLUETTI app on their mobile phones or other smart devices. This app provides detailed insights into power usage and allows for optimization of settings.

Usage Features

The AC180 is designed for user-friendly operation with intuitive controls. To power on the device, simply press the PWR button. Once on, the PWR button can also be used to turn the LCD screen on or off. Holding the PWR button for more than 2 seconds will turn off the AC180. Dedicated buttons are available for turning the DC output (cigarette lighter, USB, wireless charging) and AC output on or off independently.

The LCD screen provides essential information at a glance, including DC input, Bluetooth status, wireless charging status, fan status, ECO Mode status, Turbo charging status, low voltage alert, input power, battery capacity, output power, AC frequency, temperature anomaly alert, short circuit alert, overload alert, remaining time indicator, Power Lifting mode status, AC indicator, DC indicator, and AC input connection status.

The AC180 offers several customizable settings to enhance its functionality and efficiency. Users can enter "Setting mode" by pressing and holding the AC and DC power buttons for about 2 seconds when the screen is on and AC output is off. In this mode, the output frequency (50Hz/60Hz) can be switched using the AC power button.

A notable feature is the "Power Lifting mode," which is disabled by default. When enabled (via Setting Mode or the BLUETTI app), an icon appears on the screen. This mode allows the AC180 to run high-drain pure resistive loads (up to 2700W) while maintaining its rated output power of 1800W. It's important to note that Power Lifting mode is not available when charging the AC180 via an AC source, as the AC source will bypass the inverter and directly supply power to connected AC loads.

The "Grid Enhancement mode," also disabled by default, can be activated through the BLUETTI app. This mode ensures a stable and continuous AC input, allowing the AC180 to adapt to voltage fluctuations and waveform distortion from an AC source. However, it's recommended to turn off this mode when using the AC180 as a UPS, as the UPS may take longer to switch over and might not provide instant emergency power.

For energy efficiency, the "ECO mode" can be enabled. In this mode, the AC/DC output automatically turns off if the AC180 detects a low or no load for a specified duration (1, 2, 3, or 4 hours). The power thresholds for AC and DC output in ECO mode are 15W-30W and 5W-10W, respectively.

The AC180 supports three AC charging modes: Turbo, Standard, and Silent. Turbo charging quickly replenishes the battery, Standard charging is gentler on the battery, and Silent charging provides quiet, low-power operation for extended battery life. These modes can be selected via the BLUETTI app.

Maintenance Features

Proper maintenance is crucial for extending the lifespan and ensuring optimal performance of the BLUETTI AC180.

For storage, if the unit is not used for more than 3 months, it should be charged to 40%-60% State of Charge (SoC) and stored with the power off. The ideal storage temperature range is 10°C to 30°C. While the unit can safely charge and discharge between -20°C and 40°C, prolonged storage in harsh temperatures is not recommended. To maintain battery health, a full charge and discharge cycle should be performed every 6 months.

In cases where the SoC drops to 0 during operation or startup, immediate shutdown is required. The unit should then be charged within 48 hours, ensuring the battery is kept at an ambient temperature of 5°C to 35°C for 24 hours before charging. Charging via an AC source is recommended, and if using solar energy, the solar system should provide an output of more than 100W.

The AC180 features a built-in intelligent Battery Management System (BMS) that automatically adjusts charging power based on battery temperature and SoC. This protects the battery and extends its service life.

Regular inspection of the unit and its accessories for damage or deterioration is advised. In case of a cracked shell, the unit should not be used, and BLUETTI support or local dealers should be contacted. If the unit catches fire, a dry powder extinguisher should be used, and emergency protocols (evacuation, fire alarm, emergency services) should be followed.

The unit should be kept away from heat sources, high temperatures, and direct sunlight. It should not be stored with flammable liquids, gases, or explosive materials. Adequate ventilation is necessary, and vents should not be blocked or covered to prevent irreversible damage. The unit should be used for its intended purpose, and objects should not be stacked on top of it during storage or use. Moving the unit during operation should be avoided to prevent damage to internal hardware from vibrations and shocks.

In case of malfunction, the unit should be turned off immediately, and BLUETTI support should be contacted if the manual does not adequately explain the issue. Foreign objects should not be inserted into any port or vent. The unit should be kept away from children and pets.

The AC180 is designed for off-grid use only, and its AC output should not be connected to the grid. Unauthorized disassembly, alteration, or modification of the equipment or software is prohibited.
