General
Radar sensors monitor the area adjacent to the
vehicle from a minimum speed up to approxi‐
mately 210 km/h, 130 mph.
The minimum speed is country-specific and is
displayed in the menu for the Intelligent Safety
Systems.
A front camera detects the position of the lane
markings.
If another vehicle is detected adjacent to the ve‐
hicle – for example, with the potential of a side
collision – the system helps the driver to avoid a
collision. For this purpose, the system issues a
warning in the form of the LED on the exterior
mirror flashing and the steering wheel vibrating.
The system may execute an active steering in‐
tervention.

ditions. Observe the traffic situation and inter‐
vene actively if the situation warrants it.
