Ring Gear
Removal And Installation
the ring gear for the starter
is
removed with a
hammer
and
a blunt punch
[A].
To
install the new ring gear, heat the ring to
450-500
°F
(200°C)
and install it onto a cool flywheel.
NOTE: The champher (Item 1) [A] on the ring gear
(Inset) must be Installed toward the starter.
ENGINE OIL COOLER
Use new sealing rings on the banjo bolts every time they
are removed
[B].
ENGINE SHROUDING
To
remove the blower housing remove the bottom bolt
or
rivet [C].
Remove the shrouding [0].
