  It's normal for the power cord of a Bold Flame Indoor Fireplace to get warm during operation because the heater requires more current. Ensure the plug fits tightly into the outlet and check the connections of the appliance cord and the outlet. If the plug or outlet becomes HOT, stop using the appliance and consult a qualified electrician to check or change the overheating outlet(s).

  If all function keys are inactivated and the flame is flashing on your Bold Flame Indoor Fireplace, the overheat protection device has likely engaged. Unplug the unit and wait 5-10 minutes for the sensor to reset. Then, plug it back in and turn on the heater. If the problem continues, it is recommended to call customer service.
