  The engine might not turn on due to several reasons: * The ignition switch may be in the OFF position. If so, place the switch to the ON position. * The engine stop switch may not be in the ON position. Ensure it is. * The transmission might not be set to PARK or NEUTRAL. Set the transmission to PARK or NEUTRAL, or press the brake lever. * A fuse might be burnt. Check the condition of the main fuse. * The battery may be weak, or connections may be loose. Check the charging system fuse and the condition of connections and terminals. Have the battery checked. * The wrong ignition key may be in use. The speedometer multi-function display will show INVALID KEY if this is the case. Use the proper key for the vehicle.

  If your vehicle cannot reach full speed, consider the following: * Refer to the ENGINE LACKS ACCELERATION OR POWER section. * Ensure the parking brake lever lock is completely removed. * The air filter or airbox may be plugged or dirty. Check the air filter and clean if necessary. Also, check for deposits in the air box drain, and ensure the air intake tube is correctly positioned. * The engine may be under a protection mode. Check the speedometer multi-function display for messages. If the speedometer CHECK ENGINE indicator lamp is on and the multi-function display shows CHECK ENGINE or LIMP HOME, contact an authorized Bombardier ATV dealer.

  If the engine turns over but fails to start: * The engine may be flooded. Refer to SPECIAL PROCEDURES. * There may be no fuel to the engine. Check the fuel tank level. * The spark plug/ignition may not be working. Check the main fuse condition. Remove the spark plug and reconnect it to the ignition coil. Check that the ignition switch and/or engine stop switch is/are in the ON position. Start the engine with the spark plug grounded to the engine away from the spark plug hole.
