Usage Features:
The Bonga stretch tent offers considerable flexibility in its setup. The manual details a step-by-step assembly process for the "Safari" design, which is characterized by fewer poles and more clamps. Key usage features include:
- Temporary Shelter: Tents are designed for temporary use.
- Anchoring Responsibility: The person erecting the tent is responsible for correct anchoring and safety. Regular checks of ground anchoring are crucial to prevent damage and protect users.
- Weather Conditions: In severe weather, monitor forecasts and provide extra anchoring or dismantle the tent. Dismantle in stormy weather to prevent permanent damage.
- Heating Appliances: Maintain a minimum distance of 1.2 m from the tent canvas when using heating appliances. Open fires and heating appliances with open flames are strictly prohibited.
- Snowfall and Heavy Rain: Regularly remove snow, heavy rainfall, or other material accumulation from the tent canvas. If snow cannot be removed, store the tent dry. Heating the tent to 2 degrees Celsius can melt snow.
- Light Frost Use: The tent can be used in light frost, but canvases must be stored at a minimum of 10 °C and unfolded at the same or higher temperature to prevent splitting.
- Material Use: Only use materials supplied with the tent. Ensure the ground is suitable for the intended use.
- Tension Adjustment: Regularly check and adjust the tension on the tent.
- Water Run-off: Ensure sufficient water run-off to prevent water pockets. This requires adequate height difference between center and side poles.
- Pole Caps: Always use pole caps (small or XL) on center poles to prevent tears in the canvas. The XL pole cap distributes pressure better, reducing imprints.
- Side Clamp Placement: Always place side clamps on the reinforced zones of the canvas to prevent the internal trapeze cord from tearing.
- Center Pole Length: For tents with a width less than 10 meters, 330 to 380 cm center poles are recommended.
- Side Wall Closure: Small pole caps can be used to gradually lower the canvas to the ground, reducing level difference for closing side walls.
- Rope and Ratchet Alternative: An alternative setup using ropes and ratchets is provided for tensioning, particularly for corners and sides.
Maintenance Features:
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity of the Bonga stretch tent:
- Cleaning: Do not use aggressive cleaning materials. Clean the tent canvases with a mild soap solution (e.g., water and dish soap).
- Drying and Storage: Do not fold or pack the tent when damp. Allow the tent canvases to dry fully before storing in a dry place.
- Component Handling: Handle all components carefully. Use the packing list to verify all parts are present before storage to avoid issues during future assembly.
- Storage Location: Store the tent in a dry location and avoid placing sharp objects on top of it. Clamps and tension straps can be left attached to the canvas for quicker future setup.
- Repairs: For minor tears resulting from frequent assembly/disassembly, use the supplied adhesive patch from the zip bag.
- Warranty: A two-year warranty is provided for concealed faults. User damage due to non-compliance with instructions is not covered. Bonga offers a repair service and repair kits for minor repairs. The supplied box can be used to return the tent for repairs.
