2.20 Compressor Diagnostics
The following diagnostics measures have to to considered before a
compressor is exchanged.

Measure the resistance of the
auxiliary winding and the
main winding.
Technical data in Quickfinder. The resistance
of a cold compressor is between 5-100 Ohm
according to the compressor size and the
manufacturer. Wait until the appliance is
switched on again in case of an inside
winding shield switch (Danfoss). Attention:
Goldstar compressors have another PIN-
assignment.
In case of a short circuit or interr
uption of
the windings – change of compressor.
Measure the insulation
resistance of the auxiliary
winding and the main
winding.
According to DIN VDE 0701
If the winding has an electric connection to
the housing - change of compressor
Measure the current
consumption
In the area from 0,5 to 1,2 A
