Do you have a question about the Bosch HERCULES E-Imperial I-F8 and is the answer not in the manual?
This document describes a pedelec (electric motor-assisted cycle) and its various components, focusing on function, technical specifications, usage, and maintenance.
A pedelec is driven by muscle power applied to the chain drive, with an integrated electric drive system providing assistance. The motor activates gently when the rider pedals, assisting the motion based on a set level of assistance. The motor switches off automatically when the rider stops pedaling, the temperature is outside the permitted range, there is an overload, or the shut-off speed of 25 km/h is reached. A push assist system can also be activated, driving the pedelec at a maximum of 6 km/h as long as the push assist button on the handlebars is pressed.
The electric drive system comprises a headlight, display, control panel, integrated rechargeable battery, frame battery and/or pannier rack battery, rear light, electric gear shift (alternative), motor, and a charger designed for the battery.

Display and Control Panel: The BOSCH Intuvia display controls the drive system with four operating elements and shows journey data. It has four buttons and a USB port. The display is powered by the pedelec's battery when inserted and by an internal battery when removed. On-screen indicators include riding light symbol, level of assistance, motor power used, battery level indicator, gear recommendation, tachometer, and function display.
Levels of Assistance: The pedelec offers various assistance levels (OFF, ECO, TOUR, SPORT, TURBO) depending on the motor. eMTB mode is available for Performance Line CX drives, dynamically adjusting assistance and torque based on pedaling force.
Brake System: The pedelec features hydraulic rim brakes or disc brakes, or a combination with an additional back-pedal brake. Mechanical brakes serve as an emergency stop system. ABS is an added function in some pedelecs, detecting critical slippage and limiting front wheel slippage to stabilize the wheel during braking.
Suspension and Damping: Both forks and suspension forks are fitted. Suspension forks improve floor contact and comfort through suspension and damping. Compression dampers dampen compressive deflection, while rebound dampers dampen rebound deflection. Adjustments for negative deflection (sag), rebound, and compression are available for Suntour and FOX forks/dampers to suit rider weight and terrain.
Gear Shift: The pedelec can be equipped with derailleur gears or hub gears. eShift systems integrate electronic gear shifts, allowing for manual or automatic mode changes.
Folding Bicycle: Folding pedelecs can be folded in eight steps: switch off electric drive, use kickstand, remove display, remove battery, fold pedal, fold stem, push in seat post, and fold frame.
Accessories: Recommended accessories include a parking stand, child seats, bicycle trailers, and pannier racks. Specific safety guidelines apply to each accessory.
Cleaning:
Servicing (regularly, by specialist dealer):
Maintenance (regularly, by operator/rider):
Battery Maintenance:
Troubleshooting: The drive system monitors itself for errors, displaying codes on the screen. Basic troubleshooting steps include restarting the system, checking battery connections, cleaning contacts, and contacting a specialist dealer if problems persist.
