This document describes a Bosch dishwasher, providing comprehensive information on its function, technical specifications, usage features, and maintenance.
Function Description
The Bosch dishwasher is designed for washing domestic dishes, utilizing a water softening system to ensure optimal cleaning results, especially in areas with hard water. It offers various wash programs tailored to different types of utensils and levels of soiling, including "Auto 65°-75°," "Auto 45°-65°," "Eco 50°," "Auto 35°-45°," "Quick 45°," and "Prerinse." The appliance incorporates an Aqua sensor, an optical measuring device that assesses the turbidity of the rinsing water to optimize water consumption and adjust program parameters like temperature and running time based on the degree of soiling.
The dishwasher features a detergent dispenser that automatically opens at the optimum time during a program. It can use tablets, powder, or liquid detergents, with specific instructions for combined detergents containing salt and rinse-aid components. The water softening system uses regeneration salt to prevent limescale deposits, and a rinse-aid dispenser ensures stain-free utensils and clear glasses.
Additional options enhance the dishwasher's functionality:
- Saving time (VarioSpeed): Reduces program running time by 20% to 50%, with increased water and energy consumption for optimal cleaning.
- Half load: Ideal for smaller loads, saving water, energy, and time.
- Hygiene: Increases rinsing temperature for enhanced hygiene, suitable for items like chopping boards and baby bottles.
- IntensiveZone: Intensifies spray pressure and increases rinsing temperature in the lower basket for heavily soiled pots and pans, while the upper basket handles normally soiled items.
- Extra drying: Extends the drying phase and uses a higher final rinse temperature for improved drying, especially for plastic parts, with a slight increase in energy consumption.
The appliance also includes a timer programming feature, allowing users to delay the start of a program by up to 24 hours. An interior light illuminates the dishwasher when the door is opened.

- Water Hardness Settings: The water softening system can be set from H:00 (off) to H:07, corresponding to water hardness values from 0-8 °Clarke (soft) to 39-62 °Clarke (hard).
- Rinse-aid Settings: The amount of rinse-aid dispensed can be adjusted from r:00 (off) to r:06.
- Detergent Dispenser Capacity: Graduated markings for 15 ml (lower line), 25 ml (middle line), and 50 ml (full) for powder or liquid detergent.

- Appliance Interior: Features an interior light, cutlery drawer, top basket, top spray arm, tablet collecting tray, bottom spray arm, dispenser for salt, filters, bottom basket, dispenser for rinse aid, detergent dispenser, lock for detergent dispenser, and rating plate.
- Loading: Utensils should be placed securely, with openings facing down, and curved parts at an angle for drainage. Spray arms (23 and 25) must not be obstructed. Very small utensils should be avoided in the machine.
- Unloading: Recommended to empty from the bottom up to prevent water drips.
- Basket Adjustment: The height of the upper basket can be adjusted in three stages to accommodate different sizes of utensils.
- Folding Spikes: Spikes in the baskets can be folded down to improve arrangement of pans, bowls, and glasses.
- Cutlery Drawer: Designed for separate arrangement of cutlery for easier removal.
- Small Accessories Holder: Secures lightweight plastic items like cups and lids.

Maintenance Features
- Overall Condition: Regular checks for grease and limescale deposits on spray arms. If found, run a program with detergent and no utensils at the highest rinsing temperature. Clean with dishwasher-suitable detergents/cleaners.
- Door Seal: Regularly clean with a damp cloth.
- Appliance Exterior: Wipe the front and fascia with a damp cloth and mild washing-up liquid. Avoid abrasive sponges or detergents.
- Stainless Steel Appliances: Avoid using sponge cloths or wash them thoroughly before first use to prevent corrosion.
- Salt and Rinse-aid Refill: Check refill indicators (5 and 6) and top up as needed.
- Filters (27): Check for residue after each washing cycle. Unscrew the filter cylinder, remove the filter system, clean under running water, and re-install, ensuring arrow marks are opposite each other.
- Spray Arms (23 and 25): Check outlet nozzles for blockages. Unscrew the upper spray arm and remove the lower spray arm to clean under running water, then re-engage/screw on.
- Waste Water Pump: If the pump is blocked (indicated by E:25), disconnect power, remove filters, scoop out water, prise off the pump cover, remove foreign objects, and re-install the cover.
- Troubleshooting: The manual provides solutions for common faults and error codes (E:01 to E:30). Users are advised to disconnect power and turn off the tap before attempting self-rectification. For other faults, contact customer service.
- Transportation: Before moving the appliance, empty and secure loose parts, then drain the appliance completely to prevent damage from residual water.
- Protection against Frost: If the appliance is in a room with frost risk, empty it completely by turning off the tap, disconnecting the supply hose, and draining water.
