The BOSS™ 650 & 950 Submersible Pumps are designed for removing or transferring clean water, offering reliable performance for various applications. These pumps are not suitable for drinking water, continuous operation, or use with corrosive, easily combustible, aggressive, or explosive liquids such as gasoline, petroleum, thinners, saltwater, oils, and greases. The liquid temperature must not exceed 35°C, and permanent submersion should not exceed 3 meters.
Function Description
The BOSS™ 650 and BOSS™ 950 pumps are submersible units primarily used for pumping clear water. They are equipped with a float switch mechanism that automatically starts and stops the pump based on the water level. This feature ensures efficient operation and prevents dry-running, which can damage the pump. The BOSS™ 650 is designed to handle clear water or dirty water with particles up to 15mm, while the BOSS™ 950 is designed for clear water or dirty water with particles up to 3mm.

Usage Features
Getting Started:
- Connect a discharge pipe with a diameter at least equal to the pump outlet's diameter.
- Immerse the pump in the liquid at a 45-degree angle to reduce trapped air. Ensure it rests on a flat and stable surface if placed on the bottom.
- Ensure all persons are clear of the liquid to be pumped.
- Plug the pump into the mains.
Safety Precautions:
- Always unplug the equipment from the mains before any intervention.
- Ensure electric connections are protected from humidity.
- Avoid dry-running; never use the pump if the suction hose is obstructed.
- Do not use the power cable for carrying or unplugging the pump.
- Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges, or moving parts.
- When operating outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use.
- The pump must be used with a 230V AC power supply as indicated on the rating plate.
- Do not operate in explosive atmospheres.
- Keep children and unqualified persons away from the pump when in use.
- Risk of injury due to hot water: If the pump runs for an extended period with the outlet closed, the water can become heated.
- Maintain the pump; if damaged, ensure repair by a specialist.
- Use the pump only for its prescribed purpose; any other use is considered misuse.
Maintenance Features
Regular Care:
- Permanent Installation: Check the float switch mechanism every 3 months to ensure proper functioning.
- Cleaning: Regularly remove dirt that may accumulate in the sump. Clean the pump regularly if aspirated liquid causes sediments.
- Protection: Do not expose the pump to frost.
- Handling: Avoid shocks and do not let the pump fall.
- Electrical Cord: Do not abuse the electrical cord; never use it for carrying, pulling, or unplugging the pump.
Troubleshooting:
The manual provides a detailed troubleshooting guide for common issues:
- Motor not starting/no noise: Check if the pump is plugged in, if the float switch is in the start position when fully submerged, and verify electrical installation.
- Pump not discharging: Check if the impeller rotates and is in good condition, if the pump inlet is free, and if the delivery head exceeds the pump's capabilities. Replace the impeller or clean the pump inlet as needed.
- Pump stops suddenly: Ensure sufficient water level, check if the pump ran for a long time without stopping, verify the inlet is not obstructed, confirm mains power matches the rating plate, and ensure liquid temperature is below 35°C. Disconnect the pump to cool down and clean the inlet.
- Flow decreases/low flow: Check if the pump inlet and impeller are clean, and if the discharge pipe is partially clogged. Clean the affected areas and verify the check valve if applicable. Ensure the discharge pipe diameter is adequate and suppress any reduction of water passage.
Warranty:
The pump is guaranteed for 1 year from the date of purchase. The warranty is valid only if the unit is handled properly according to the instructions, has not been modified, and has only been repaired by a suitable specialist. The warranty does not cover:
- Non-compliance with instructions (e.g., non-protection against freezing, pumping sand, dry running, incorrect electrical connection).
- Attempting to repair the pump or changes in its technical elements.
- Use of non-original replacement parts.
- Damage due to falls or dents.
- Inappropriate use, such as pumping hard/heavy particles (stones), excessive sand, saltwater, or high lime content.
- Lack of maintenance or cleaning.
Parts not covered by the warranty include rope suspension and fittings if supplied with the pump. A repair or exchange during the warranty period does not extend the original warranty period.
