If MIDI messages are not being transmitted or received by your Boss Music Pedal, consider the following: * Check for shorts by replacing the MIDI cable. * Ensure the external MIDI device is properly connected. * Confirm the MIDI channels match those of the external MIDI device. * If transmitting from the RC-500, verify the TX CH (transmit channel) setting and the PC OUT (program change message transmit) on/off setting.

If your Boss Music Pedal is unable to communicate with your computer, check these things: * Make sure the USB cable is properly connected. * If exchanging files via USB, ensure that “STORAGE” is not OFF; set STORAGE to “PREPARING...“ in the “Backing-Up or Recovering Data” procedure. * If you are editing a memory, save the memory, and then try the USB connection again, as USB connection is not possible with an unsaved memory.
