Our new XB Subwoofers offer a clean,contemporary style that is
visually more compatible with modern interiors. New style
elements include a lower,slightly wider footprint,gently rounded
corners,metal grilles,and flush-mounted volume controls on top
of the XB8,XB6,and XB4.All are available in black ash.All four are
front-firing, front-ported, and very easy to install.
The XB subwoofers are equipped with Deep Channel
™
woofers
that deliver extended excursion with increased bass response,
and Boston’s exclusive BassTrac circuitry,designed to eliminate
distortion. A 24dB/octave lowpass filter on each subwoofer
prevents it from being easily localized by ear, increasing
placement flexibility. Also provided are variable crossovers,
phase controls, rear-panel line and speaker level inputs, and a
crossover bypass function for Home Theater components that
perform their own bass management.
The XB8 and XB6 powered subwoofers feature large 12-inch
Deep Channel woofers, BassTrac circuitry, and powerful
amplifiers in vented enclosures. The XB8 has a FTC-rated
300-watt amplifier and the XB6 has a 200-watt amplifier. The
XB8 and XB6 have a frequency response (+/-3dB) of 26Hz-
150Hz and 29Hz-150Hz respectively. The volume control is
mounted on top of the cabinet, flush with the surface, so the
top remains perfectly flat
