Select; Ext Gate

Check that output is a burst of between 4 and 6 pulses.

Select single cycle.
Press the (red) manual button. Checking that the output is high while the button is Pi"essed.^g^^^^^^^
Note that the Trig'd lamp makes a visible flash as the button is pressed.

Trigger the unit at 0. 5MHz.
Set: Delay A : lOnsec.
Width A ; Ipsec.
Delay B : 0. Ipsec.
WidthB : 0. Ipsec.
Set output to B pulse, +ve, Norm.
Trigger the oscilloscope externally from pre-pulse, with the time base at 0. 2psec.
Select parallel delay. Check that the B pulse is near to left of the screen and moves to the
right by 3 to 8cm when serial delay is selected.
Select: "Gated by width A" and check that a burst of 3 to 8cm is obtained.
5.7 TIMING (Test Equipment 6)
5.7.1 Period
Select: Free run
Serial delay : All delays and widths at min.
Output : A, B and Sum buttons all out.
Connect output to period measuring instrument.
Record Cal. and Max. on all ranges.
Check that the extremes of 20nsec and 2 sees are reached, and that there is overlap be
tween all adjacent ranges.
5.7.2 Width A or B
NOTE: If range 1 max does not overlap range 2 on any delay or width,
change the IC, in line with the rotary switch, (possibly with
IC210 or 310) or reduce the resistor connected to the earth tag on
the rotary switch.
