Overview

The Brandt BOH1224X - BOH1224BB is a built-in electric oven designed for domestic use, offering a range of cooking functions, user-friendly controls, and maintenance features.

Function Description:

The oven provides various cooking functions, selected via a dedicated control knob. These include:

  • Oven Lamp: Illuminates the oven interior for the duration of the cooking function.
  • Defrost Function: Activates the oven's warning lights and fan to aid in defrosting frozen food. Food should be placed on the third shelf from the bottom, with a tray underneath to collect melting ice. This function does not cook or bake.
  • Turbo Function: Engages the thermostat, warning lights, ring heating element, and fan. Heat is evenly dispersed, ensuring uniform cooking on all racks. Preheating for about 10 minutes is recommended. This function supports steam cooking.
  • Static Cooking Function: Activates the thermostat, warning lights, and both upper and lower heating elements. It provides even heat for uniform cooking, ideal for pastries, cakes, baked pasta, lasagna, and pizza. Preheating for 10 minutes is recommended, and it's best to use only one shelf at a time.
  • Fan Function: Activates the thermostat, warning lights, upper and lower heating elements, and the fan. This function is suitable for baking pastry, with heat from both elements and air circulation from the fan providing a slightly grilled effect. Preheating for 10 minutes is recommended. This function supports steam cooking.
  • Pizza Function: Activates the thermostat, warning lights, ring and lower heating elements, and the fan. Ideal for quickly and evenly baking foods like pizza. The fan distributes heat, while the lower element ensures baking. This function supports steam cooking.
  • Grilling Function: Activates the thermostat, warning lights, and the grill heating element for grilling and toasting. Use the upper shelves, lightly oil the wire grid to prevent sticking, and place food in the center. Always place a tray underneath to catch drips. Preheating for 10 minutes is recommended. The oven door must be closed, and the temperature set to 190°C.
  • Faster Grilling Function: Activates the thermostat, warning lights, grill, and upper heating elements for quicker grilling of larger surface area foods like meat. Use upper shelves, lightly oil the wire grid, and place food in the center. A tray should be placed beneath to catch drips. Preheating for 10 minutes is recommended. The oven door must be closed, and the temperature set to 190°C.
  • Double Grill and Fan Function: Activates the thermostat, warning lights, grill, upper heating elements, and fan for faster grilling of thicker or larger foods. Both upper elements and the grill work with the fan for even cooking. Use upper shelves, lightly oil the wire grid, and place food in the center. A tray should be placed beneath to catch drips. Preheating for 10 minutes is recommended. The oven door must be closed, and the temperature set to 190°C.
  • Vap Clean Function (Steam Cleaning): Sets the oven function and thermostat to the Vap Clean symbol. Pour 200-250ml of water into the small tray on the oven base. This function runs for 30-60 minutes, preparing the oven for easier cleaning.

  • Steam Cooking: Requires pouring drinking water into the reservoir before operation. Do not add water when the oven is hot. Be cautious when opening the door during or after steam cooking due to hot steam. Ensure the oven interior dries after cooking to prevent corrosion. Use stainless dishes. Clean any remaining water from the reservoir after each use.
  • First Use: A slight odor may be noticed during the first use due to insulation materials. It is recommended to run the empty oven at maximum temperature for 45 minutes, ensuring good ventilation.

Maintenance Features:

  • General Cleaning: Always switch off and cool the appliance before cleaning. Use cream or liquid cleaners without particles; avoid caustic creams, abrasive powders, rough wire wool, or hard tools. Do not use steam cleaners. Clean spills immediately.
  • Oven Interior: Best cleaned while warm with a soft cloth soaked in soapy water, then wiped with a wet cloth and dried. Liquid cleaning material may be needed occasionally for thorough cleaning.
  • Pyrolytic Cleaning: Before activating, remove excessive spills and ensure the oven is empty of all accessories (wire grids, trays, shelves, supports) as they can be damaged. The oven cavity has a special high-temperature resistant enamel, reaching about 475°C during cleaning. The oven door automatically locks for safety. After cleaning, the cooling fan runs, and the door remains locked until cooled. Wipe the oven with a warm, damp sponge after each use or pyrolytic cycle. Odors and fumes from burning food residue are normal but can be harmful to birds, children, and pets, so keep them away. Ensure the installation area is well-ventilated, and close doors to prevent odor spread.
  • Glass Parts: Clean regularly with a glass cleaner, then rinse and dry with a dry cloth.
  • Stainless Steel Parts (if applicable): Clean regularly with a soft cloth soaked in water, then dry thoroughly. Do not clean when hot. Avoid leaving vinegar, coffee, milk, salt, water, lemon, or tomato juice on stainless steel for long periods.
  • Painted Surfaces (if applicable): Clean tomato, ketchup, lemon, oil derivatives, milk, sugary foods, sugary drinks, and coffee stains immediately with a warm, damp cloth. Do not rub with hard objects or harsh chemicals to avoid corrosion or permanent stains.
  • Inner Glass Removal: The oven door glass can be removed for cleaning. Instructions detail how to push and pull the glass from its brackets. For triple-glass doors, the third layer can be removed similarly.
  • Oven Door Removal: The oven door can be removed for cleaning. Open the door, open the locking catch with a screwdriver, then close the door almost completely and pull it towards you.
  • Oven Lamp Replacement: Switch off and cool the appliance. Remove the glass lens, then the bulb. Insert a new bulb (230 V, 15-25 Watt, E14 type, resistant to 300°C). Replace the glass lens. The product contains a Class G light source, which is not user-replaceable and requires after-sales service.
  • Lime Residue: Do not scrape lime residues from the oven floor. To dissolve, pour 200-250 ml of white vinegar (max 6% acid) onto the oven floor after every 2-3 uses, wait 30 minutes, then clean with a damp cloth.
