Overview

The Brass Monkey GH2047 is an 18L portable fridge/freezer designed for versatile cooling and freezing applications, suitable for both household and outdoor use. This appliance offers a range of features that make it convenient for various scenarios, from camping and farmhouses to hotel stays and general food storage.

Function Description

The GH2047 operates as a portable fridge/freezer, capable of maintaining temperatures from -20°C to +20°C. It utilizes a high-efficiency DC compressor and conversion module for effective cooling. The device supports dual-mode operation: ECO (Energy Saving Mode) for extended battery life and MAX (Fast Cooling Mode) for rapid temperature reduction. It can be powered by a 12/24V DC source, such as a car cigarette lighter, or an optional removable battery. An integrated USB port allows for charging other USB devices, adding to its utility. The fridge/freezer also features a digital temperature display with adjustable controls, enabling precise temperature management. For enhanced convenience, it can be controlled via a Bluetooth-enabled smartphone application.

Usage Features

  • Powering On and Temperature Setting: To turn on the fridge, connect it to a power source and press the power button. The internal temperature will be displayed, and the compressor will start. The "SET" button allows users to switch between ECO and MAX modes. Temperature can be adjusted using the "+" and "-" buttons, ranging from 20°C to -20°C.
  • Battery Operation and Charging: The GH2047 can be powered by an optional removable lithium battery, providing backup power for off-grid use. To maximize battery life, it is recommended to switch to ECO mode and set battery protection to "L" (Low). Pre-chilling the fridge to the desired temperature in advance and avoiding frequent door openings also help conserve battery power. The battery can be charged via a wall outlet (AC 100-240V with a dedicated adapter), a car cigarette lighter (DC 12/24V), or a solar panel (12-50V). When charging with a solar panel, it is advised to use a 100W panel and ensure the fridge is placed in a cool area to prevent overheating. The battery status and voltage can be checked by pressing and holding the "SET" button for 3 seconds.
  • Battery Protection: The product incorporates a three-level battery protection function (Low, Medium, High) to safeguard both the product and the vehicle's battery. The factory default is set to Low protection. Users can adjust this setting by long-pressing the "SET" button for 3 seconds when the fridge is powered on. The "H" setting is recommended when connected to car power, while "M" or "L" should be used with portable or backup batteries.
  • Food Storage: For freezer use (-20°C to 0°C), meat should be properly cut and packed. It is important not to mix fresh and frozen food. Glass containers or sealed liquid containers should not be stored in the freezer to prevent explosions. For refrigerator use (0°C to 10°C), items like eggs, butter, milk, and bottled drinks can be stored. All food should be appropriately packed before storage, and placing pre-cooled food in the refrigerator helps save energy.
  • Smart Control (App): The fridge/freezer can be controlled remotely using the "BRASS MONKEY" smartphone application, available on iTunes App Store (Apple devices) and Google Play Store (Android devices). After downloading the app and selecting the search function, users are prompted to pair the fridge by pressing the "SET" button on the control panel. Once paired, the app provides a control panel to manage various functions, including temperature settings, mode selection (ECO/MAX), and locking/unlocking the fridge's control panel. If the control panel is locked via the app, the fridge can only be controlled through the app.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning: Before cleaning, always disconnect the power supply to avoid electric shock. Use a wet cloth to clean and dry the device. The cover can be removed, and the drain hole at the bottom can be used to remove water. Avoid soaking the device in water or washing it directly. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents, as they can damage the appliance.
  • Storage: If the device will not be used for an extended period, turn off the power and remove the plug. Empty all stored items. Remove the cover, drain any water, and wipe the interior with a soft rag. Leave the lid slightly open to prevent odor formation. Store the device in a cool and dry place.
  • Defrosting: Frost can accumulate inside the cooling device or on the evaporator, which can impair cooling performance. Regular defrosting is necessary. To defrost, switch off the device, remove all contents, and keep the lid open. Remove the cover and drain any defrosted water, then wipe it dry. Never use hard or sharp tools to remove ice or loosen frozen objects, as this can damage the refrigerant circuit.

Safety Information

The manufacturer emphasizes that they are not responsible for any injury resulting from misuse. Users should not operate the appliance if it is visibly damaged, block the fridge gaps, expose it to rain, or immerse it in water. It should not be placed near naked flames or other heat sources. Explosive substances or flammable propellants should not be stored inside. The supply cord must be dry, untrapped, and undamaged. The appliance should only be used with the provided power supply unit, and the voltage specification must match the energy supply. Electrical appliances should not be used inside food storage compartments unless recommended by the manufacturer. After unpacking, the appliance must be placed on a level surface for at least 6 hours before turning on. It should remain horizontal during operation, with a tilt angle less than 5° for long-term use and less than 45° for short-term use. Ventilation openings must be kept clear. The appliance should be stable on the ground or in a vehicle and not drained upside down. Repairs should only be carried out by qualified personnel. Children should not play with the appliance, and cleaning/maintenance should not be performed by children without supervision. The appliance can be used by children aged 8 and above, and individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, provided they receive supervision and instruction on safe use. Due to flammable refrigerant and blowing gas, local disposal regulations must be followed.
