Tape
monitoring
facility
The fact
that a different source
can be
heard
from that which is
being recorded
means
a
Fue tape
monitoring
facility
is
pos-
sible. lt
is
merely
necessary
to
set
the rotary
switch
"input
selector"
(16)
to
the
record-
ing
tape
deck. This implies
that the tape
deck in
question
does
have
a tape
monitor-
ing
facility.
Should this not
be the case, the
signal
can
still
be
checked by setting the
rotary
switches
(16)
and
(15)
to the same
source.
Level indicator
display
The level display
(14)
with
its
green
LEDs
marked
16
to
0 receives its
signal from the
pre-amplifier
output
(corresponding
to
the
"pre-out"
sockets
(27)).
The
sensitivity
of
the display
can be increased
up
to
10 fold
by depressing
the
"display
sens>
button
(10).
Then
a
visual
control
is
possible
at low
volume
levels. The top two
LEDs
"clip,'
of
the level
display
(14)
illuminate
red when
the
power
amplifier section is
overloaded.
Should
this
arise,
reduce the
volume.

Some
important
technical
points
Loudspeaker
compatibility
This
amplifier is
built for 8
ohm speakers.
Alltechnical
information
is
based
on
an
8
ohm impedance.
The
use of 4 ohm speakers
creates
no
problem,
but
particular
care
should
be
taken
that
good
air circulation is
possible.
Use
of two speaker
pairs
When
connecting
2 x
2 speakers,
they
should
be of the
same type
and
specifi-
cation
to
obtain
the
maximum from
the
amplifier.
Connection to
supplementary
units
The
projecting
connection
between
pre-
and
power
amplifier
(jumper
between
sockets
(27)
and
(28))
facilitates
the
use
of
a
supple-
mentary
appliance
such as an
equalizer.
The
clipping display
"cliP"
in the
display
(14)
is
controlled
by the
power
amplifier
and
retains
its
function
even
when
supplemen-
tary
appliances
are
used.
All
controls of the
41
amplifier are in the
pre-amplifier
section
so that the
signal for
supplementary
appliances
at
the
"pre-out"
sockets
(27)
may
be
adjusted.
Subject
to change
without notice.
