Why does the high limit switch keep tripping on my Breckwell Luxury P2700?
    • A
      Alejandra CarrAug 16, 2025
The high limit switch tripping can be caused by: * The convection blower overheating. Clean any dust off the windings and fan blades. If this doesn't help, the blower may be defective. * Using the highest heat setting for too long. This setting is intended for short periods; prolonged use (over 1-2 hours) can cause overheating. * Burning fuels other than wood pellets. Breckwell stoves are designed for wood pellets. Burning corn mixtures is possible but not recommended above heat level 3. Using other fuels is not approved and should be stopped immediately. * A malfunctioning high limit switch. If other causes are ruled out, replace the high limit switch.

Why does my Breckwell Luxury P2700 convection blower shut off and come back on?
    • C
      Christopher MurphyAug 20, 2025
This issue can be due to: * The convection blower overheating and tripping its internal temperature shutoff. Try cleaning any dust off of the windings and fan blades. If cleaning doesn't resolve the issue, the blower may be faulty. * A circuit board malfunction. Test the current going to the convection blower. If power is being sent to the blower when it shuts off, the control board is fine. If there is no power when it shuts off during operation, the control board is likely bad.

Why am I getting a smoke smell coming back into my home from my Breckwell Stove?
    • D
      diazdouglasAug 25, 2025
The smoke smell could be due to: * A leak in the vent pipe system. Inspect all vent pipe connections and ensure they are sealed with RTV silicone (rated for 500°F or higher) and UL-181-AP foil tape. Also, check the square to round adapter piece on the combustion blower for proper sealing with RTV. * A bad gasket on the combustion blower. Inspect both gaskets on the combustion blower to ensure they are in good condition.

How to fix a Breckwell Stove that feeds pellets but won't ignite?
    • D
      Denise CordovaOct 28, 2025
Here are some possible solutions: * Adjust the air damper: It may be open too far for ignition. Push it in closer to the side of the stove for startup, and in some cases, it may need to be completely closed. Adjust it after a flame appears. * Check for blockages in the igniter tube or its inlet: Locate the igniter housing on the backside of the firewall and clear the air intake hole on the bottom. Also, check for debris around the igniter element. * Ensure the burnpot is correctly positioned: Make sure the air intake collar on the burnpot is touching the rear wall of the firebox. * Test the igniter element: Apply power directly to the igniter element and observe the tip from the front of the stove. It should glow after about 2 minutes. If it doesn't, the element is bad. * Check ...

Why does my Breckwell Luxury P2700 Stove shut off and the #3 light flashes?
    • H
      Heather CruzNov 1, 2025
This can occur for several reasons: * The hopper may be out of pellets, in which case you should refill it. * The air damper might be too far open for a low feed setting; if burning on low, try closing the damper completely. * The burnpot may not be pushed completely to the rear of the firebox; ensure the air intake collar on the burnpot is touching the rear wall of the firebox. * The burnpot holes may be blocked; remove and thoroughly clean the burnpot. * There might be a partial blockage in the air inlet, interior chambers, or exhaust system. Consult the maintenance section of the owner’s manual for cleaning procedures. * The auger shaft could be jammed. Empty the hopper, remove the auger motor, and inspect the auger shaft and tube for damage or foreign material. * The aug...

What to do if my Breckwell Stove shuts off and the #2 light flashes?
    • A
      Allison GregoryNov 6, 2025
This issue can arise from several potential causes: * A blockage in the airflow switch hose or stove attachment pipes. Detach the air hose from the air switch and blow through it to check for free airflow. Clear any blockages with a wire coat hanger if necessary. * Obstructions in the air inlet, burnpot, interior combustion air chambers, combustion blower, or exhaust pipe due to ash or foreign material. Follow the cleaning procedures in the maintenance section of the owner’s manual. * An improperly sealed firebox. Ensure the door is closed, the gasket is in good condition, and the ash door is properly latched with a good gasket seal. If there's a small hole for ashes, verify the slider plate is in place. * Incorrectly installed vent pipe. Verify the vent pipe installation meets th...

Why won't my Breckwell Stove feed pellets, but the fuel feed light is on?
    • G
      Garrett WrightNov 10, 2025
Several factors can cause this: * A blown fuse on the control board. Replace it with a 5 Amp 250 Volt fuse after removing the control board. * A tripped or defective high limit switch. Allow the stove to cool for 30-45 minutes. If it still doesn't work, test the high limit thermodisk. * A bad auger motor. Remove the auger motor and test it. * An auger jam. Empty the hopper, remove the auger motor, and inspect the auger shaft and tube for any obstructions or damage. * Loose wires or connectors. Check all connections to the auger motor, high limit switch, and Molex connector. * A faulty control board. If the fuse is good, the wiring is intact, and the high limit switch hasn't tripped, test for power going to the auger motor. If there's no full current when the fuel feed light is...
