Why does my Breckwell SP6000 Stove shut off and the fourth light (HT) flash?
    • J
      John HawkinsAug 15, 2025
If your Breckwell Stove shuts off and the fourth light (HT) flashes, the convection blower may be overheating. Clean any dust off of the windings and fan blades. If oiling the blower does not help, the blower may be bad. Avoid using the highest heat setting for extended periods, as it's designed for short-term use (no more than 20 minutes). Ensure you're using only approved fuels like wood pellets or whole shelled corn. A power surge could trip the high limit switch, so consider using a surge protector. If these steps don't resolve the issue, the high limit switch might be malfunctioning and need replacement.

How to stop smoke smell coming from my Breckwell SP6000 Stove?
    • M
      Matthew DickersonAug 20, 2025
If you're experiencing a smoke smell coming back into your home from your Breckwell Stove, there could be a leak in the vent pipe system. Inspect all vent pipe connections and make sure they are sealed with RTV silicone that has a temperature rating on 500 degree F or higher. Also, seal joints with UL?181?AP foil tape. Also, make sure the square to round adapter piece on the combustion blower has been properly sealed with the same RTV. Check the gasket on the combustion blower to ensure it's in good condition.

Why does the convection blower on my Breckwell SP6000 shut off and come back on?
    • E
      Emily AllenAug 25, 2025
If the convection blower in your Breckwell Stove shuts off and comes back on, it may be overheating. Vacuum any dust off of the windings and fan blades. If cleaning the blower does not help, the blower may be bad. Another cause could be a circuit board malfunction. Check the voltage going to the convection blower. If there is power to the blower, then the control board is fine. If there is NOT power being sent to the blower when it shuts off during operation, then you have a bad control board.

What to do if my Breckwell Stove shuts off and the third light (POF) flashes?
    • R
      Roberto BurgessOct 29, 2025
If your Breckwell Stove shuts off and the third light (POF) flashes, it could be due to several reasons: * The hopper might be out of fuel; in this case, refill the hopper. * The air damper might be open too far for a low feed setting. If burning on a low setting, close the damper to prevent burning fuel too quickly. * The holes in the burn pot might be blocked, requiring you to remove and thoroughly clean the burn pot. * The auger shaft might be jammed. Visually confirm that the auger shaft is not rotating. If it is not, start by emptying the hopper of fuel. Then pull the auger shaft out of the auger tube from the front of the stove. Then clear the auger tube of all fuel. Visually inspect the auger shaft. Make sure the auger flights are securely attached to the auger shaft. Inspe...

Why does my Breckwell SP6000 shut off and the second light (AS) flash?
    • L
      lbeltranNov 2, 2025
If your Breckwell Stove shuts off and the second light (AS) flashes, it indicates a problem with airflow or component failure. Here's what you can check: * Ensure the airflow switch hose and stove attachment pipes are not blocked. Unhook the red air hose from the air switch and blow through it. If air flows freely, the hose and tube are fine. If air will not flow through the hose, use a wire coat hanger to clear the blockage. * Inspect for blockages in the air inlet, burn pot, interior combustion air chambers, combustion blower, or exhaust pipe. * Verify the firebox is properly sealed by checking the door, gasket, and ash cleanout doors. * Confirm the vent pipe is correctly installed according to the manual. * Check the airflow switch wire connections and ensure the gray wires a...

How to troubleshoot a Breckwell SP6000 Stove that won't feed fuel but the auger light is on?
    • A
      aimeehullNov 6, 2025
If your Breckwell Stove won't feed fuel but the auger light is on, here's what to check: * First, see if the fuse on the control board blew. Remove the control board. On the back there is one fuse. If it appears to be bad, replace it with a 5 Amp 125 Volt fuse. Plug the stove back in and try to run it. * Check if the high-temp switch has tripped. Wait for the stove to cool for about 30 ? 45 minutes. It should now function normally. If not use the owner’s manual to locate the high limit thermodisc. To test if the thermodisc is bad, you can bypass it as described previously for the POF thermodisc. * A bad auger motor can also be the reason. Remove the fuel from the hopper and remove the auger shaft from the auger tube. Apply line voltage to the auger motor. If the motor will not turn,...

What causes a dirty burn in my Breckwell Stove?
    • F
      fmccoyNov 10, 2025
A dirty burn in your Breckwell Stove can be caused by several factors. Ensure the stove and vent pipe are clean to allow proper airflow, and verify the vent pipe is correctly installed. Adjust the air damper; it should not be set too far in (closed) for a higher heat setting. Also, make sure that the burn pot holes aren't blocked and that the air damper isn't blocked with ash. Check the air intake pipe for blockages. If the auger motor runs constantly, the board is bad. Finally, the brand of corn or pellets, or perhaps the batch being used, may be of poor quality. If possible, try a different brand of corn or pellets. See “Proper Fuels” section to insure you are using the proper kind of corn or pellet. You might also want to try a brand that is made from a different type of corn or wood (s...
