BLOWERSPEEDS
Theconvectionblower(theonethatblowsairintotheroom),andthecombustionblowerarebothcontrolledbythecontrolpanel
dependingonwhichheatlevelsettingyousetthestoveon.TheBlowerswilloperateatapre‐programmedspeed
dependingupon
theheatlevelsettingyouareoperatingthestoveat.However,youcanmanuallyadjusttheconvectionblowerspeed.Youcan
increasetheconvectionblowerspeedabovethepre‐programmedlevelbypressingtheHighFanbutton.Foroptimalheatoutput
andlongevityoftheconvectionblower,youshould
allowtheconvectionfantobecontrolledbythecontrolpanelmostofthetime.
Inmostcases,youwillonlywanttoincreasetheconvectionfanspeedwhenyoulowertheheatlevelsettingbymorethantwo
levels.Insuchacasereturnittothenormalspeed
fortheheatlevelyouareoperatingthestoveonafterabout15minutes.
NOTE:RUNNINGTHECONVECTIONFANONTHEHIGHSETTINGFORLONGPERIODSOFTIMEWILLDEGRADETHELIFESPANOFYOURCONVECTION BLOWER.
SHUTDOWNPROCEDURES
TheshutdownproceduresfortheSP6000Multi‐fuelstovearesimpleandstraightforward.SimplypresstheON/OFFbuttonone
timeandyourunitwillgointoapre‐programmedshutdownmode.Althoughnotrequired,youmaywishtoopenthedamper
completely.Yourblowers
willcontinuetorunforasmuchasahalfanhourormoreuntilthestovecoolstobelowapproximately90
degreesF.Allowthestovetocompleteitsshutdownprocedurecompletelyanddonotunplugthestoveuntilcompleted.During
theshut‐downprocedure,somefuelin
theaugersystemwillbepurgedanddumpedintotheburn‐pot.
CAUTION:AVOIDOVERFIRINGYOURSTOVE!
Ifatanytimeyouobserveaportionofthestoveglowingred(otherthanthestirrodintheburnpot),youareoverfiringtheunitor
someothermalfunctionhasoccurred.Immediately
initiateshutdownproceduresbypressingtheOn/Offbuttononetime.Allow
theunittogothroughthepre‐programmedshutdowncycleandcontactyourdealer.Observetheunittoensureitdoesindeed
shutdownproperly.
Donotunplugthestoveasthiswillpreventtheblowersfrom
runningandcoolingyourunitandcouldresultinadmittingsmokeinto
thehouse.
RESTARTINGAWARMSTOVE
Onoccasion,thestovemayhavetoberestartedwhen,forexample,ithasbeenshutoffforashcleaning.Ifthereisnofireor
glowingembersintheburnpotand
nosmokepresentinthefirebox,theviewingdoorcanbeopened.Ifthedoorisopenfor30
secondsormorewhilethefansarerunning,theairpressuresafetyswitchwilldeactivateandpreventtheaugerfeedfrom
operating,asindicatedbytheHeatLevel2(red)light
blinking.Thefanswillcontinuetorun.YoumaythenremovetheStirRod
CotterPinandremovetheStirRodandBurnPottoremovetheashesandunburnedfuel.
CAUTION:THEBURNPOTANDSTIRRODWILLBEHOTANDCANCAUSEBURNSTOUNPROTECTEDSKIN.USETHERMALLY
INSULATED
GLOVESTOREMOVETHESTIRRODCOTTERPIN,STIRRODANDBURNPOT.
FollowingtheLightingInstructions,placewoodpelletsintheburnpot,applystartergelandlight.Allowonetotwominutesforthe
woodpelletstocatchfire.Thenshutthedoor,andpresstheOn/OffbuttonontheControlPanel.Afterapproximatelyfour
minutes,youshouldobservethestoveresume
feedingfueltotheburnpot.
OPENINGTHEFUELHOPPERLID
Thestoveisequippedwithanaugerinterlockswitchwhichinterruptspowertothefuelfeedaugerwhenthelidisopen.Thisisa
safetyfeaturerequiredbythesafetycodeswhichwillavoidinjuryshouldfingersor
clothingbecomeentangledwiththefuelfeed
auger.
Dependingontheheatlevelthestoveatwhichthestoveisoperating,thefireintheburnpotmayextinguishwithinafewminutesif
thehopperlidisleftopen.
Bearthisinmindwhenrefuelingthestove.Thisfeature
canalsobeusedtotemporarilystopthefuelfeedifitappearsthattheburn
pothasbecomefullofunburnedfuel.Thiscanoccasionallyoccurduringstartupdependingontheamountofwoodpelletsusedto
startthefire.Donotleavethelidopenforextendedperiods,as
thefirewillgoout,andthereispotentialforadmittingsmoketo
theroom.
