MAINTAIN THE
SEARPLATE
TM
GRIDDLE
STEP 1
Clean the SearPlate
TM
Griddle after it’s removed from the
re pit and still warm to touch. Use a paper towel or a
at-edged spatula to clean the griddle and scrape off any
residue or grease.
STEP 2
Oil the SearPlate Griddle by massaging a thin layer of
food-grade oil into the metal with a clean paper towel.
We recommend using Canola, Avocado, or Grapeseed Oil.
Wipe any excess oil off, and the griddle is ready for the
next burn. Please note that we oil the top of the SearPlate
Griddle before we ship it. The bottom is left unoiled
intentionally and may have some discoloration, which will
not affect its performance.
STEP 3
Place the griddle on the SearPlate Stand or any
noncombustible surface to completely cool.
STEP 4
Store the SearPlate Griddle and/or SearPlate Stand in a
dry space until your next use.
Always practice safety rst when
using the SearPlate
TM
Griddle.
While using the SearPlate
Griddle, exercise the same
precautions you would with
any open re. Never leave your
SearPlate Griddle unattended,
especially around children and
pets.
Remove the SearPlate Griddle
immediately after the cook is
complete. If the griddle is left on
the heat for extended periods
of time, it may cause the oil to
burn off the griddle and rust the
carbon steel.
After removing the SearPlate
Griddle, do not place it on any
combustible surfaces and keep
it away from children and pets.
