Why Briggs & Stratton Lawn Mower engine will not turnover or start?
    • C
      Carl RobinsonAug 16, 2025
The engine might not start due to several reasons: the brake pedal may not be fully depressed, the fuel tank could be empty, the battery terminals might need cleaning, the battery could be discharged or dead, or the wiring may be loose or broken. Ensure the brake pedal is fully depressed. If the engine is hot, allow it to cool, then refill the fuel tank. If the wires are frayed or broken, see authorized dealer. Recharge or replace the battery if necessary.

What to do if Briggs & Stratton Lawn Mower engine stalls easily with mower engaged?
    • D
      Dillon ChanAug 19, 2025
If the engine stalls when the mower is engaged, it might be due to several reasons. The engine speed may be too slow, or the ground speed might be too fast. The air filter could be dirty or clogged, the cutting height might be set too low, the engine might not be up to operating temperature, or you might be starting the mower in tall grass. Set the engine to full throttle and slow down. If you are cutting tall grass, do it at maximum cutting height during the first pass. Run the engine for several minutes to warm-up. Start the mower in a cleared area.
