  Your Briggs & Stratton Portable Generator might shut down due to: * Low oil level. To fix this, fill the crankcase to the proper level or place the generator on a level surface. * Being out of gasoline. If this is the case, simply fill the fuel tank. * Low oil level.   If your Briggs & Stratton Portable Generator runs well without a load but bogs down when a load is connected, it could be due to: 1. A short circuit in the connected load. Disconnect the shorted electrical load. 2. The generator being overloaded. See "Don't Overload Generator". 3. A shorted generator circuit. Contact an Authorized service facility.
