  If the top thread appears on the bobbin side of the fabric when using your Brother Sewing Machine, it indicates that the upper thread tension is too loose, or the bobbin thread tension is too tight. Try increasing the upper tension. If the top thread continues to show on the bobbin side, reduce the tension of the bobbin thread or bypass the bobbin tension. Also, ensure that you color match the top thread with the bobbin thread.

  If the thread was accidentally cut and the bobbin thread is caught inside the Brother Sewing Machine, apply slight tension on the bobbin thread by holding the thread out to the left side of the presser foot and press the 'Thread Cutter' button again. You may also need to cut the thread near the fabric above the needle plate and then remove the fabric. Removing the bobbin and holding it out might also help.
