Why are skipped stitches occurring while sewing with my Brother LZ2-B850 Sewing Machine?
    • L
      Laura GarciaJul 30, 2025
Skipped stitches can occur for several reasons. The needle tip may be bent or blunt, in which case you should replace the needle. Ensure the needle is correctly installed and the machine is properly threaded. Check if the presser foot pressure is too weak and adjust it accordingly. If the needle is too thin, replace it with a slightly thicker one. Also, make sure the presser foot isn't too high and adjust its height if needed. The needle and rotary hook timing could be incorrect, requiring adjustment of the needle bar height and clearance. Finally, a weak thread tension spring may also cause this issue, so adjust its tension.

Skipped stitches can occur while sewing with your Brother Sewing Machine if the needle tip is bent or blunt. Replace the needle if this is the case. Also, check if the needle is properly installed and thread the thread correctly if the machine is not properly threaded. Other causes include presser foot pressure being too weak (adjust the presser foot pressure), the needle being too thin (replace the needle with a thicker one), the presser foot being too high (adjust its height), incorrect needle and rotary hook timing (adjust the needle bar height and clearance), or a weak thread tension spring (adjust its tension).

What to do if skipped stitches occur at the sewing start on my Brother LZ2-B850 Sewing Machine?
    • L
      Leah DavisAug 9, 2025
Skipped stitches at the start of sewing can happen due to several factors. If the thread take-up spring tensions are too strong, reduce them. If the thread tension spring operating range is too large, lower its position. If the needle is too wide, try using a needle with a lower count. Ensure that the reference line q on the machine pulley is aligned with the mark on the belt cover at the sewing start. Also, make sure that the length of thread trailing out from the needle hole is not too short; align the reference line q with the mark on the belt cover and pull out 50 mm of thread.
