GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The 3-SICUR device is suitable for detecting the presence in the environment of SOPORIFIC/NARCOTIZER GAS - PROPANE AND
CARBON MONOXIDE GAS.
A single button can be used to switch the device on or off, test its operation or reset it in the event of an alarm.
• Press the button (fig.1) for 5 seconds to switch the device on
• Press the button (fig.1) for 5 seconds to switch the device off
• Press the button for 1 second for test function (the device will sound as if it were in alarm)
• Press the button after an alarm for 1 second to reset the alarm.
(n.b. : in case of persistence of gas in the environment repeat the procedure).
Press the key for 5 seconds to switch on the device, the green LED will flash 5 times and the device heating time will start.
The warm-up time is about 120 seconds, after which only the green led will remain steady on, indicating the correct functioning
and the presence of power.
To switch off the detector, hold down the button until the red LED flashes 6 times.
In the event of a gas alarm, the device activates, via the built-in relay, electro-valves, sirens and
any other alarm signalling or resolution device. The relay contact has a current capacity of 1 A.
Positioning
For installation proceed as follows:
Find a space in the passenger compartment where the device is protected from water, rain, washing jets, dust, etc. Place the
device on the wall opposite the cooker, stove, etc.
The position of the detector depends on the type of gas and the density of the gas to be monitored in relation to the ambient air:
•
Narcotic gas - Position: place the detector near the bed where you sleep. Position: place the detector near the bed where you sleep.
• LPG-Propane (gas heavier than air and therefore tends to move downwards). Position: at a distance of 20-50 centimetres
from the floor.
• Carbon monoxide - Position: at human height or at least within five feet of the floor level.
In addition, to ensure correct functioning and to avoid false alarms due to random and temporary gas presence or harmless
variations in air quality, the detector must not be positioned :
• at a distance of less than 1 / 2 metres from gas boilers or water heaters
• at a distance of less than 2-3 metres from cooking cookers and ovens (to avoid contamination of the sensor by cooking
vapours and odours),
• outdoors,
• in closed spaces that are too cramped, e.g. inside a cabinet or cupboard
• directly above or below a sink, near doors or windows,
• near air extractors,
• in places where dust or dirt could affect the sensitivity of the sensor
• in places where air movement may be hindered
• in places subject to possible water splashes (washbasin, etc.)
• in places that are particularly inaccessible for manual reset of the device and its periodic inspection.
