WARNING
Ensure that the oil grade used is correct and the oil levels are correct. If the
oil is used improperly or the oil level is wrong, the pump performance will
be affected and the pump may be damaged, which will compromise its
constructional safety.
Note: If the oil in the shaft seal reservoir is depleted, the oil seal may have failed. Please
contact the supplier or the BAOSI Service Department.
During operation of the pump, the oil in the motor side cover circulates around the
fluid coupling, so that no oil level is visible or a small amount of foam is visible at the
motor side cover oil level sight glass.
See Figure 2 for the location of the fuel filler port and the corresponding markings on the
pump body. Check the oil level steps as follows:
1. Stop the pump, vent it to atmospheric pressure and let it cool down.
2. Check the oil level of the shaft seal reservoir. If the oil level is below the bottom of the
reflector, unscrew the filler plug, add new oil to the shaft seal to the top of the reflector,
and tighten the filler plug.
3. Check the oil level of the motor side cover. If it is lower than the top of the reflector,
unscrew the oil plug and add new oil to the top of the reflector. Screw on the filler plug.
(Because of the structure of the motor side cover, after stopping the pump, the oil level
in the oil level sight glass of the motor side cover will rise slowly. When the oil level is
not rising, keep it at rest, then the correct oil level of the motor side cover.)
4. Check the oil level of the gear side cover. If the oil level is lower than the oil level lower
limit, unscrew the oil filler plug, add new oil to the gear side cover to the upper and
lower limits of the oil level, and then tighten the oil filler plug.
5.4 Check the pump connection
1. Check if the cooling water connection is secure.
2. Check if there are any corrosion, leakages and damage for the cooling water pipelines
and connections.
3. Check that the electrical connections are secure.
4. Check if any damage for the power supply cables.
5. Check all the vacuum pipelines for corrosion and damage. Check that all vacuum
connection are secure.
