To turn the radio on, press and hold the POWER switch on the left-hand side of the unit until the radio comes on. The
LCD will display the frequency of the station being received.
To turn the radio off, press and hold the POWER switch on the left-hand side of the unit until the radio turns off. The
LCD will display the time set by the user.
NOTE: The earphone is also used as the FM antenna. For best reception, when listening to FM radio stations, extend the
earphone cable as far as possible. The unit has an internal ferrite antenna for receiving AM stations. Because the ferrite
antenna receives better in some directions, rotate the radio for best reception.
Tuning the radio
Press the AM/FM key to select the band. Use the SEARCH/SCAN keys to select the frequency. Pressing the “>>” key
increases the frequency. Pressing the “<<” key decreases the frequency. On the AM band, pressing the keys will increase or
decrease the frequency by 10 kHz. On the FM band, pressing the keys will increase or decrease the frequency by 100 kHz.
Pressing and holding either the “>>” key or the “<<” key will cause the radio to search for stations. When the radio finds a
station, scanning will stop and the LCD will show the frequency. Release the SEARCH/SCAN key to hear the station.
To select a station from the station memories, use the SAVED STATIONS keys to select the desired station.
Setting the volume
The VOLUME keys allows you set the volume. The “+” key increases the volume. The “-” key decreases the volume.
Programming station memories
The radio can store up to 58 frequencies (29 per band) in its station memory.
To program station memories automatically, first set the radio to the lowest frequency in the band (520 kHz for the AM
band, 87.5 MHz for the FM band). Press and hold the AM/FM key. The radio will then begin to scan the selected band,
adding stations to the station memory when it finds a station. The scan will end when the radio fills up all 29 memories
for the selected band or it reaches the highest frequency of the band.
To program station memories manually, tune to the frequency of the desired station. Press the SAVE/DEL key. The
MEMO icon and the memory number of the next available station memory will flash on the LCD. To program that
memory with the selected frequency, press the SAVE/DEL key again.
