Making Wiring Connections

Wire Stripping

Strip back specified insulation lengths for connections.

Wire Separation

Separate vehicle wire enough to fit the other wire through.

Wire Insertion

Insert the wire from the unit through the hole.

Wire Wrapping

Wrap wire around one side, then the other, and finally itself.

Electrical Taping

Use electrical tape to cover wires on either side of the connection.

Wire Tie Application

Use wire ties to secure connections after taping.

Connection Caution

All wires must be wrapped and taped securely.

Making End to End Connections

Wire Stripping for End Connections

Strip back 1" of insulation on both wires and separate strands.

Wire Twisting

Twist upper wires together and lower wires together.

Wire Laying

Lay twisted pairs over each other for connection.

End Connection Taping

Wrap with electrical tape for 2 inches on either side.

End Connection Wire Tie

Secure with wire ties.

Locating & Making Connections

Constant Power (+12 V)

Locate +12V constant wire in ignition harness (ACC-LOCK-OFF-RUN-CRANK).

Connecting Constant Power

Attach RED wire (18-pin) and large RED wires (4-relay) to constant power.

Fuse Holder Taping

Wrap electrical tape around all (3) fuse holders to prevent shorts.

Ignition Wire(s)

Locating Ignition Wires

Find wires showing +12V in RUN and CRANK positions only.

Connecting Ignition Wires

Connect YELLOW and WHITE wires from 18-pin and 4-relay harnesses.

Accessory Wire(s)

Locating Accessory Wires

Find wires showing +12V in RUN or ON positions only.

Connecting Accessory Wires

Connect WHITE/BLACK STRIPE wire to accessory wires.

Starter;Crank Wire

Locating Starter Wire

Find wire showing +12V only in the crank position.

Connecting Starter Wire

Attach YELLOW/BLACK STRIPE wire to the starter wire.

Chassis Ground

Ground Connection Point

Locate an easy-to-get-to bolt or screw under the dash.

Securing Ground Wire

Attach the BLACK ground wire from the 18-pin harness securely.

Parking Lights

Locating Parking Light Wire

Find wire showing +12V only when parking lights are ON.

Connecting Parking Light Wire

Connect BROWN wire from 18-pin harness to parking light wire.

Brake Input

Locating Brake Wire

Find wire on switch near brake pedal showing +12V when pressed.

Connecting Brake Wire

Connect BLUE/BLACK STRIPE wire to the brake wire.

Factory Alarm Shut Down Wire (FASD)

Locating FASD Wire

Find small wire showing (-) ground when door lock cylinder is turned to unlock.

Connecting FASD Wire

Connect RED/BLACK STRIPE wire to the FASD wire.

Hood Pin Switch

Installation of Hood Pin

Drill hole, insert switch, adjust for proper hood closure.

Connecting Hood Pin Wire

Plug BLACK/BLUE STRIPE wire from 18-pin harness into hood pin switch.

Tach Input (Optional)

Tach vs. Tachless Mode

Choose tach or tachless start; tape unused BLACK/WHITE STRIPE wire.

Connecting for Tach Mode

Connect BLACK/WHITE STRIPE wire to negative side of coil or tach wire.

Neutral Safety Switch

GM Rear Wheel Drive (Pre-1996)

Use diagram to prevent starting unless key is removed from ignition.

Dodge Dakotas (Pre-1996)

Use diagram to prevent starting unless key is removed from ignition.

Antenna Placement

Antenna Mounting Location

Run antenna up windshield pillar to center, behind rearview mirror.

Antenna Performance

Expose full length, mount vertically below tint for best range.

Factory Anti-Theft Systems

GM PASSKEY I & II

Requires bypass module for resistor pill in key.

GM PASSLOCK I & II

Requires bypass module for dash light system.

GM PASSKEY III

Requires bypass module for PK3 transponder system.

Ford PATS

Requires bypass module FBP-718 or #781.

Chrysler;Imports Transponder

Requires bypass module #3781 for 1998 and up.

Connecting the 18-Pin Harness & 4-Relay Harness

Harness Connection Precautions

Double check connections, wrap with tape, mount unit, plug in harnesses.

Initial Test

Press start button; parking lights flash, vehicle should start.

Optional Connections

Door Pin Trigger

Determine door pin polarity (+ or -) and connect appropriate wire.

Door Pin Trigger

Positive Door Pin

Connect BLACK/YELLOW STRIPE wire to positive door pin wire.

Negative Door Pin

Connect BLACK/YELLOW STRIPE wire to negative door pin wire.

Door Pin Test Note

Ensure dome light is on during testing for accurate readings.

Dome Light Connection

Connect VIOLET wire to optional relay for dome light function.

Relay Configuration

Connect relay to +12V constant and ground based on door pin type.

Shock Sensor Input

Find wire in steering column that grounds when horn is pressed.

Connect GRAY/BLACK STRIPE wire to optional relay for horn function.

Installing Starter Immobilizer

Starter;Crank Wire Modification

Cut starter/crank wire; connect immobilizer RED and WHITE wires.

Immobilizer Orange Wire

Connect immobilizer ORANGE wire to the 18-pin harness ORANGE wire.

Testing Door Locks

Type A Door Lock Test

For GM/Chrysler; tests for positive voltage on lock/unlock wires.

Type B Door Lock Test

For Imports/Fords; tests for +12V illumination on lock/unlock wires.

Type C Door Lock Test

For Fords/Chryslers/GM Trucks; tests reversing polarity.

Connecting Door Locks

Type A Locks Connection

Connect BROWN/BLACK to lock wire, GREEN/BLACK to unlock wire.

Type B Locks Connection

Connect GREEN/BLACK to lock wire, BROWN/BLACK to unlock wire.

Type C Locks Connection

Requires optional part #3778; follow diagram for reverse polarity.

Operator Programming Instructions

Entering Programming Mode

Press brake, then hold button; release brake to exit.

Installation Programming

Programming Tach;Tachless Start

Set vehicle start mode (Tachless or Tach) via button sequence.

Programming Door Lock Pulse Length

Set door lock pulse length to 3.5s or 0.7s via button sequence.

Programming Double Pulse Unlock

Enable or disable double pulse unlock feature via button sequence.

Programming Doorpin Inputs

Set doorpin input to positive (+) or negative (-) via button sequence.

Operator Programming
