BYD Suri Owners Manual
Parking Brake 1-95
When the car flames out and the
ignition switch is shifted to OFF, EPB
automatically pulls up; indicator light
on the instrument lights up, and
text reminds ―electronic parking brake
has not been released‖.
IV. EPB Manual Release
Press the ignition switch to ON or start
the vehicle; continuously step on the
brake pedal and press switch
downward until indicator light on
the instrument goes out; it means
electronic parking brake has been
released, and text reminds ―electronic
parking brake has been released‖.
V. EPB Automatic Release at the
Start-up of the Car
When the vehicle is in parking
state, start the vehicle, and
continuously step on the brake
pedal; indicator light goes
out after the gear is shifted from
P or N to driving gear like D or R,
and the text reminds ―electronic
parking brake has been
released‖.
Note: Please operate according to the
correct shifting operation and step on
the brake pedal in the whole process
of gear shifting.
When the vehicle has been
started and the gear is at driving
gear D or R, manually pull up
EPB and step on the accelerator
pedal to a certain degree; EPB
will automatically release,
indicator light will go out,
and there is text reminding
―electronic parking brake has
been released‖.
VI. Hill Start-up
When the car has to be started on a
ramp way, please confirm EPB has
been pulled up (EPB has been pulled
up if indicator light lights up); if
EPB
has not been pulled up, please
manually pull up EPB according to the
second step operation. Then operate
according to the fifth step, and the car
can be easily and smoothly started.
VII. Emergency Brake Function
Braking is necessary in the process of
vehicle running. If foot brake pedal is
found failed or blocked, the driver may
continuously pull up EPB switch and
conduct forced braking to stop the
vehicle.
Indicator light on the instrument
now lights up, gives out an alert, and
text reminds ―electronic parking brake
has not been released‖.
WARNING
Try to avoid using forced EPB
braking; only in case of
emergencies such as foot
brake failure or brake pedal
block, driver may start using
the emergency brake function.
Because it is impossible for
EPB to surpass the physical
limits of road adhesive force,
starting emergency braking
function when passing through
curves, dangerous or crowded
road, or driving in severe
weather conditions may cause
drift, sideslip or side-slipping of
the car. Beware of accident!
