-WINTER CARE-
Fountain bowls/tops and other fountain components, which collect water, should not be left outside in the winter since any component,
which fills with water and freezes may crack. Likewise, components such as pedestals, which remain in a basin, filled with water,
which then freezes, may also crack or crumble. Ideally, therefore, a fountain should always be stored indoors or in a dry protected
place such as a covered porch away from the elements. However, if a fountain must be left outside:
(1) Remove pump, rubber stoppers, drainpipes, finials, and other small components for storage indoors. Note that stoppers or
drainpipes are removed to allow drainage in the event water accumulates in any basin.
(2) Raise fountain base from ground with wood strips so that base will not freeze to the ground surface.
(3) Cover or wrap the fountain with burlap or other absorbent material (old blanket or towel) and then cover securely with
plastic, making sure that water will not accumulate in the basin or other fountain component and freeze;
(4) Check fountain periodically to ensure that plastic is secure and water is not accumulating in any fountain component.
-GENERAL FOUNTAIN TIPS-
Install fountains on a level surface. You will need a properly grounded 110-volt (AC only) GFCI protected receptacle near the
fountain for your pump. All pumps are submersible and must be completely underwater to function properly. Test all pumps and
adjust to full output prior to assembly. It is not recommended that fountains be placed directly on grass or dirt. Position the channel
opening at the base of each fountain toward the electrical outlet to be used since the pump
cord will be threaded through this opening.

Overview

This document describes the FT-240 Three Tier Longvue Fountain, a cast stone water feature designed for outdoor use. The fountain requires a level surface capable of supporting a minimum of 1052 pounds and has an approximate 2.75 square foot footprint. Three people are recommended for its installation due to the weight and size of its components.

Function Description:

The FT-240 is a three-tier fountain designed to circulate water, creating a visually appealing and soothing water feature. Water is pumped from the base, through a series of pedestals and bowls, and then cascades down from the top finial through each tier back into the large base bowl, where it is recirculated. The plumbing system involves non-kink tubing, a standpipe, and various stoppers to ensure proper water flow and drainage.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Weight Capacity: Requires a surface capable of holding a minimum of 1052 pounds.
  • Footprint: Approximately 2.75 square feet.

Usage Features:

  • Installation: Requires three people. Components are assembled sequentially, starting with the base. Each component must be leveled as it is assembled.
  • Plumbing Assembly: Involves attaching clear tubing to the pump outlet, placing a stopper around the pump cord, feeding the pump cord through various holes in the bowls and pedestals, and securing tubing with hose clamps. The standpipe is inserted into the middle bowl.
  • Pump Operation: The pump is submersible and must be completely underwater to function properly. It is recommended to test the pump and adjust to full output prior to assembly.
  • Placement: Install on a level surface. Avoid placing directly on grass or dirt. Position the channel opening at the base towards the electrical outlet for pump cord routing.
  • Optional Accessories: Compatible with Refill #10 Device and LED Kit (a different style stopper may be requested for the refill kit).
  • Cover: Uses a medium fountain cover (FTNCOV-MED).

Maintenance Features:

  • Winter Care (Crucial for longevity):
    • Indoor Storage (Ideal): Fountain bowls/tops and other components that collect water, as well as pedestals remaining in water-filled basins, should not be left outside in winter to prevent cracking from freezing water. Ideally, store the fountain indoors or in a dry, protected place (e.g., covered porch).
    • Outdoor Storage (If unavoidable):
      1. Remove pump, rubber stoppers, drainpipes, finials, and other small components for indoor storage. Stoppers or drainpipes are removed to allow drainage in case water accumulates.
      2. Raise the fountain base from the ground using wood strips to prevent it from freezing to the ground surface.
      3. Cover or wrap the fountain with burlap or other absorbent material (e.g., old blanket or towel), then secure it with plastic. Ensure no water can accumulate in the basin or other components to freeze.
      4. Periodically check the plastic covering to ensure it remains secure and that water is not accumulating.
  • General Tips:
    • Ensure the fountain is installed on a level surface.
    • Use a properly grounded 110-volt (AC only) GFCI protected receptacle for the pump.
    • Test the pump and adjust to full output before assembly.
    • Avoid placing the fountain directly on grass or dirt.
    • Position the channel opening at the base towards the electrical outlet.
  • Cleaning: While not explicitly detailed, regular cleaning of the pump and bowls is implied for optimal performance and to prevent algae buildup.
  • Troubleshooting: The document mentions that hose clamps may be used as flow restrictors, suggesting a potential adjustment for water flow.
  • Support: Users can check YouTube for "How to" videos and visit www.campaniainternational.com for more product information.
