What to do if my Can-Am 2007 Outlander 500 EFI Offroad Vehicle engine turns over but fails to start?
    • H
      hallleonardAug 1, 2025
If your Can-Am Offroad Vehicle's engine turns over but doesn't start, it might be due to a flooded engine. To resolve this, activate the drowned mode by holding the throttle lever completely while pressing the engine start button for 20 seconds. Then, release both and try starting the engine again. If that doesn't work, clean or replace the spark plugs. Also, check the fuel tank level. A failure of the fuel pump may have occurred. Contact an authorized Can-Am dealer. Ensure there's no fuel in the engine oil; if there is, replace the engine oil.

Why does my Can-Am 2007 Outlander 500 EFI Offroad Vehicle engine lack acceleration or power?
    • C
      clarkjohnAug 6, 2025
If your Can-Am Offroad Vehicle engine lacks acceleration or power, it could be overheating. The CHECK ENGINE light will illuminate, and HI TEMP will appear on the display. First, check and clean the radiator fins. Reduce vehicle speed while keeping it moving to allow airflow to the radiator. If it continues to overheat, stop the vehicle, set the transmission to PARK, and turn the ignition to ON (without restarting the engine) to let the radiator fan cool it down. Check the coolant level and refill if needed. It may also be caused by a plugged or dirty air filter or housing. Check and clean the air filter if necessary, and inspect the air filter housing drain and air intake tube position.

How to troubleshoot an engine that does not turn on a Can-Am 2007 Outlander 500 EFI?
    • K
      Kevin Perkins DVMAug 10, 2025
If your Can-Am Offroad Vehicle's engine doesn't turn, make sure the ignition switch is in the ON position and the engine stop switch is also ON. Ensure the transmission is in PARK or NEUTRAL, or press the brake lever. Check the main fuse for any burning. Inspect the battery connections for looseness or corrosion, and have the battery checked by a Can-Am dealer if it's weak. Finally, ensure you're using the correct ignition key and that the speedometer doesn't display INVALID KEY.

      Shannon StuartAug 21, 2025

What causes engine misfire in Can-Am 2007 Outlander 500 EFI Offroad Vehicle?
    • G
      Gerald QuinnAug 26, 2025
If your Can-Am Offroad Vehicle engine misfires, the spark plug may be fouled, damaged, or worn. Clean or replace the spark plug, ensuring it has the correct heat range. Also, check for water in the fuel. If present, drain the fuel system and refill with fresh fuel.
