How to fix a Can-Am Offroad Vehicle when the engine does not turn?
    • J
      Jennifer WelchJul 26, 2025
If your Can-Am Offroad Vehicle's engine doesn't turn, here's what to check: * Ensure the ignition switch is in the ON position. * Verify the engine stop switch is also in the ON position. * Make sure the transmission is set to PARK or NEUTRAL, or press the brake lever. * Inspect the main fuse for any burning. * Check the charging system fuse, connections, and terminals for looseness or weakness. Consider having the battery checked and ensure you're using the correct ignition key (speedometer should not display 'INVALID KEY'). If problems persist, contact an authorized Can-Am dealer.

What to do if Can-Am Renegade engine turns over but fails to start?
    • S
      Shari CarterJul 31, 2025
If your Can-Am Offroad Vehicle engine turns over but doesn't start, it could be due to a flooded engine or lack of fuel. If the spark plug is wet, try the drowned mode: insert the key, turn to the ON position, fully press and HOLD the throttle, and press the engine START button for 20 seconds. Then, release both and try starting again. If it fails, clean the spark plug area, remove the plugs, crank the engine several times, and clean or replace the spark plugs. If the spark plug is dry, check the fuel tank level. For fuel pump failures, contact an authorized Can-Am dealer.

Why does my Can-Am Renegade engine lack acceleration or power?
    • J
      Joseph PrattAug 4, 2025
If your Can-Am Offroad Vehicle engine lacks acceleration or power, it might be overheating. The CHECK ENGINE light will turn on, and HI TEMP will appear on the display. Clean the radiator fins and reduce vehicle speed to allow airflow. If overheating continues, stop the vehicle, set the transmission to PARK, and turn the ignition to ON (without restarting the engine) to let the radiator fan cool it down. Allow the engine to cool, check the coolant level, and refill if needed. Also, check the spark plugs and ensure the engine is getting fuel (refer to the 'ENGINE TURNS OVER BUT FAILS TO START' solutions). If issues persist, contact a Can-Am dealer.

    • K
      Krista CruzAug 8, 2025
If your Can-Am Offroad Vehicle engine is misfiring, the issue might be a fouled, damaged, or worn spark plug. Try cleaning or replacing the spark plug, ensuring it has the correct heat range. Another cause could be water in the fuel. If so, drain the fuel system and refill with fresh fuel.
