We
recommend setting the image stabilizer
to
[mil OFF] when using a tripod.
[WIDESCREEN]: The camcorder uses the full width
of
the image sensor providing high-
resolution 16:9 recordings.
Since the screen on the camcorder has
an
aspect ratio
of
16:9, recordings with a 4:3
aspect ratio will appear
in
the center
of
the screen with black sidebars.
Playing
back
a
widescreen
recording:
TV sets compatible with the Video
10-1
system
will automatically switch
to
wide (16:9) mode. Otherwise, change the aspect ratio
of
the
TV manually.
To
play
back
on a TV with normal aspect ratio (4:3) change the
[TV
TYPE]
setting accordingly
(CD
90).
The camcorder retains the last setting used even if you set the camcorder
to
[,"'*] mode.
[FOCUS
PRt]:
When the focus priority is activated, the camcorder records a photo only
after the focus has been adjusted automatically.
You
can also select which
AF
frames
to
use.
[fJm
ON:AiAF]: One
or
more AF frames
out
of
the nine frames available are automatically
selected and the focus is fixed on them.
[@]
ON:CENTER]: A single focusing frame appears
in
the center
of
the screen and the
focus is automatically fixed on it.
[mil OFF]: No AF frame will appear and the
photo
will be recorded immediately after you
press
[J=l~QIQJ
.
When
the
recording
program
is
set
to
[mFIREWORKS],
focus
priority
is
automatically
set
to
[mil
OFF].
[A.SL SHUTTER]: The camcorder automatically uses slow shutter speeds
to
obtain
brighter recordings in places with insufficient lighting.
The camcorder uses shutter speeds
down
to
1/30 (1/15
in
LQiJ
mode).
The setting can be changed when the camcorder is set
to
[
-"lor
[0]
mode. The
camcorder retains the last setting used even if you set the camcorder
to
[£]
mode.
If a trailing afterimage appears, set the slow shutter
to
[m
OFF].
If
~Qp
(camcorder shake warning) appears, we recommend stabilizing the camcorder,
for
example,
by
mounting it on a tripod.
[WIND
SCREEN]: The camcorder automatically reduces the background sound
of
wind
when recording outdoors.
Some low-frequency sounds will be suppressed along with the sound
of
wind. When
recording in surroundings unaffected
by
wind
or
if you want
to
record low-frequency
sounds, we recommend setting the wind screen
to
[mil OFF
~I"'].
[REVIEW]: Selects the time
to
display a
photo
after it has been recorded
to
the memory.
If you press
[gJ~':j
while reviewing a
photo
it will continue
to
be displayed indefinitely.
Press
l~'::iQT_Q]
halfway
to
return
to
the normal display.
