Remove all protective tapes and materials from the printer's exterior and interior.
Open the cartridge locking cover and install the ink cartridges.
Connect the power cord and press the ON button to power up the printer.
Open the printer's top cover and ink tank cover to access the tanks.
Remove ink bottle caps and insert the nozzles into the ink tank inlets.
Fill ink tanks to the limit line, then securely replace caps and close covers.
Press the RESUME/CANCEL button to start the ink system preparation process.

Obtain printer setup software from the Canon website via a web browser.
Install printer software using the included CD-ROM on Windows PCs.
Manually access CD-ROM files via File Explorer if auto-run fails.
Execute the Msetup4.exe program from the CD-ROM or downloaded file.
Follow the wizard's instructions to finalize the printer setup.
Open paper support and adjust paper guides to prepare for loading.
Place paper print-side up and extend the paper output tray.
