Remote (Downstairs) Monitoring of Control-
ler’s Fault Detection and Diagnostics
Many codes including IECC, Title 24, and ASHRAE 90.1
require that the economizers faults be accessible by operat-
ing or service personal, or annunciated locally on zone ther-
mostat. To setup remote monitoring on the controller, under
SYSTEM SETUP, AUX1-OUT must be set to SYS.
The latest versions of Honeywell’s TH8321WF or
TH8321R thermostats are options for meeting this require-
ment. Figure 33 shows an example of the thermostat wiring to
the Jade controller. Follow instructions provided with Honey-
well thermostat.
Another option that is acceptable to some codes is an an-
nunciator light visible by service personnel. See Fig. 34 for
typical wiring to the Jade controller. Refer to codes for proper
labeling of light.
