Function Description:
The remote control serves as the primary interface for operating Carrier air conditioning units. It allows users to:
- Select Operation Mode: Choose between Auto, Cool, Dry, Heat, and Fan modes to suit different climate control needs.
- Adjust Temperature: Set the desired room temperature within a range of 17°C to 30°C (62°F to 88°F) in 1°C (2°F) increments.
- Control Fan Speed: Select from Auto, Low, Medium, or High fan speeds for optimal airflow and comfort.
- Set Timers: Program the unit to turn on (TIMER ON) or turn off (TIMER OFF) automatically at specified times, or combine both for scheduled operation.
- Activate Special Functions: Access features like Swing, Sleep, Self Clean, Follow Me, LED display control, Turbo, Ionizer, Smart Eye, F.P. (Freeze Protection), and Silence modes.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Temperature Range: 17°C to 30°C (62°F to 88°F) for cooling, heating, and dry modes.
- Timer Settings: 0 to 24 hours, adjustable in 30-minute increments up to 10 hours, then 60-minute increments up to 24 hours.

Usage Features:
Quick Start:
- Fit Batteries: Insert batteries into the remote control.
- Point Remote Toward Unit: Ensure the remote is aimed at the indoor unit for proper signal transmission.
- Press Power Button: Turn the unit on/off. By default, it operates at 24°C in Auto mode with Auto fan speed.
- Select Mode: Use the MODE button to cycle through Auto, Cool, Dry, Heat, and Fan.
- Select Temperature: Use the UP/DOWN buttons to adjust the temperature.
- Select Fan Speed: Use the FAN button to choose Auto, Low, Medium, or High.
Display Indicators:
- Mode Display: Shows AUTO, COOL, DRY, HEAT.
- Transmission Indicator: Lights up when a signal is sent.
- Temp./Timer Display: Shows temperature (17-30°C) or timer (0-24h). No display in FAN mode.
- ON/OFF Display: Indicates if the unit is operating.

- SWING Button (Swing):
- Horizontal louver: Each press moves the louver by 6 degrees. Holding for >2 seconds activates automatic up/down swing.
- Vertical louver: Each press moves the louver by 6 degrees, displaying " " on the indoor unit for one second. Holding for >2 seconds activates automatic vertical swing, displaying "IIII" (flashing four times) then reverting to temperature. Stopping displays "LC" for 3 seconds.
- SELF CLEAN / IONIZER Button (Self Clean):
- Single press: Activates/disables SELF CLEAN function, which cleans and dries the evaporator.
- Hold for >2 seconds: Activates/disables Ionizer function (or Plasma Dust Collector on some models) to remove pollen and impurities.
- FOLLOW ME / SMART EYE Button (Follow Me):
- Single press: Activates/disables FOLLOW ME function. The remote control senses the actual temperature at its location and sends this signal every 3 minutes. Not available in DRY and FAN modes.
- Hold for >2 seconds: Activates/disables SMART EYE function. The unit detects human presence via an infrared sensor. If no human activity is detected for 30 minutes, it enters standby to save energy and resumes operation upon sensing activity.
- FAN Button (Fan): Selects fan speed (Auto → Low → Med → High).
- TIMER ON Button (Timer): Initiates auto-on time sequence. Adjusts in 30-minute increments up to 10 hours, then 60-minute increments up to 24 hours.
- TIMER OFF Button (Timer): Initiates auto-off time sequence. Adjusts in 30-minute increments up to 10 hours, then 60-minute increments up to 24 hours.
- SLEEP Button (Sleep): Activates/disables sleep function for comfortable temperature and energy saving. Sleep mode is cancelled if MODE, FAN, or ON/OFF buttons are pressed.
- TURBO/SILENCE Button (Turbo):
- Single press: Activates/disables TURBO function for rapid cooling/heating.
- Hold for >2 seconds: Activates/disables SILENCE function, reducing compressor frequency and fan speed for quieter operation. May result in insufficient cooling/heating capacity.
- LED/F.P. Button (LED):
- Single press: Clears or lights the display on the indoor unit.
- Hold for >2 seconds (in HEAT mode only): Activates Freeze Protection (F.P.) function. Unit operates at high fan speed, automatically set to 8°C (46°F). Indoor unit displays "FP" or defrost indicator light flashes. F.P. is cancelled by pressing ON/OFF, SLEEP, F.P., MODE, FAN SPEED, UP, DOWN buttons.
Operation Modes:
- Auto Mode: The unit logically chooses Cooling, Fan, or Heating based on the difference between ambient room temperature and the set temperature. Fan speed is automatically controlled.
- Cooling/Heating/Fan Mode: Manually select the desired mode, set temperature, and fan speed. In Fan mode, temperature display is not active, and room temperature cannot be controlled.
- Dry Mode: Select DRY mode and set the desired temperature. Fan speed cannot be adjusted in Dry mode.
- Timer Operation:
- Timer ON only: Unit starts automatically at a set time.
- Timer OFF only: Unit stops automatically at a set time.
- Timer ON and Timer OFF: Program the unit to turn on and shut off at specified times.
Maintenance Features:
- SELF CLEAN function: Automatically cleans and dries the evaporator to maintain freshness.
- IONIZER function: Helps remove pollen and impurities from the air.
- SMART EYE function: Monitors human presence to optimize energy consumption by entering standby mode when no activity is detected.
- Freeze Protection (F.P.) function: In heating mode, prevents the unit from freezing by operating at 8°C (46°F) with high fan speed.
Notes:
- Vertical swing, Ionizer, Smart eye, and Silence functions may not be available on standard models.
- Button designs may vary slightly between models.
- HEAT mode is not activated for cooling-only models.
