INTRODUCTION
Hazardouschemicals
Ifyouareexposedtoorcomeincontactwithhazardouschemicalsyoucanbeseriouslyinjured.Theuids,lubricants,
paints,adhesives,coolant,etc.requiredforthefunctionofyourmachinecanbehazardous.Theymaybeattractive
andharmfultodomesticanimalsaswellashumans.
MaterialSafetyDataSheets(MSDS)provideinformationaboutthechemicalsubstanceswithinaproduct,safehan-
dlingandstorageprocedures,rstaidmeasures,andprocedurestotakeintheeventofaspilloraccidentalrelease.
MSDSareavailablefromyourdealer.
BeforeyouserviceyourmachinechecktheMSDSforeachlubricant,uid,etc.usedinthismachine.Thisinformation
indicatestheassociatedrisksandwillhelpyouservicethemachinesafely.FollowtheinformationintheMSDS,and
onmanufacturercontainers,aswellastheinformationinthismanual,whenyouservicethemachine.
Disposeofalluids,lters,andcontainersinanenvironmentallysafemanneraccordingtolocallawsandregulations.
Checkwithlocalenvironmentalandrecyclingcentersoryourdealerforcorrectdisposalinformation.
Storeuidsandltersinaccordancewithlocallawsandregulations.Useonlyappropriatecontainersforthestorage
ofchemicalsorpetrochemicalsubstances.
Keepoutofreachorchildrenorotherunauthorizedpersons.
Appliedchemicalsrequireadditionalprecautions.Obtaincompleteinformationfromthemanufacturerordistributor
ofthechemicalsbeforeyouusethem.
Utilitysafety
Whendiggingorusingground-engagingequipment,beawareofburiedcablesandotherservices.Contactyourlocal
utilitiesorauthorities,asappropriate,todeterminethelocationsofservices.
Makesurethatthemachinehassufcientclearancetopassinalldirections.Payspecialattentiontooverheadpower
linesandhangingobstacles.Highvoltagelinesmayrequiresignicantclearanceforsafety.Contactlocalauthorities
orutilitiestoobtainsafeclearancedistancesfromhighvoltagepowerlines.
Retractraisedorextendedcomponents,ifnecessary.Removeorlowerradioantennasorotheraccessories.Should
acontactbetweenthemachineandanelectricpowersourceoccur,thefollowingprecautionsmustbetaken:

Stopthemachinemovementimmediately.
•
Applytheparkingbrake,stoptheengine,andremovethekey.
•
Checkifyoucansafelyleavethecaboryouractualpositionwithoutcontactwithelectricalwires.Ifnot,stayinyour
positionandcallforhelp.Ifyoucanleaveyourpositionwithouttouchinglines,jumpclearofthemachinetomake
surethatyoudonotmakecontactwiththegroundandthemachineatthesametime.

Donotpermitanyonetotouchthemachineuntilpowerhasbeenshutofftothepowerlines.
Electricalstormsafety
Donotoperatemachineduringanelectricalstorm.
Ifyouareonthegroundduringanelectricalstorm,stayawayfrommachineryandequipment.Seekshelterina
permanent,protectedstructure.
Ifanelectricalstormshouldstrikeduringoperation,remaininthecab.Donotleavethecaboroperator’splatform.
Donotmakecontactwiththegroundorobjectsoutsidethemachine.
Mountinganddismounting
Mountanddismountthemachineonlyatdesignatedlocationsthathavehandholds,steps,and/ororladders.
Donotjumpoffofthemachine.
Makesurethatsteps,ladders,andplatformsremaincleanandclearofdebrisandforeignsubstances.Injurymay
resultfromslipperysurfaces.
