INTRODUCTION
NOTICE:AnyengineandfuelinjectionequipmentttedtoaCASECONSTRUCTIONvehiclefoundtohaverunwith
anyblendofNON-APPROVEDfuel(fuelnotfulllingthespecicationdescribedintherequirementEN14214)willno
longerbecoveredforWarrantybyCASECONSTRUCTION.
Biodieselfuelusageconditions
Youmuststringentlyfollowthebiodieselfuelusageconditions.Incorrectapplicationofthebiodieselfuelusagecon-
ditionscouldleadtoseveredamagetotheengine,fuelinjectionequipmentandaftertreatmentsystem.
Themainconcernsrelatedtooperationwithbiodieselfuelsare:
•
Filtersandinjectorblockagecausedbypoorfuelquality.
•
Wearandcorrosionofinternalcomponentsduetowatercontent,whichaffectslubricity.
•
Deteriorationofsomerubbersealingcompoundsinthefuelsystem.
•
Biodieseloxidation,whichcanleadtotheformationofdepositsthatcanharmthefuelinjectionsystem.
NOTICE:Anyproblemintheenginefuelinjectionequipmentassociatedwithnon-compliancetothefollowingcondi-
tionsforbiodieselfuelhandlingandmaintenancewillnotbecoveredforWarrantybyCASECONSTRUCTION.
Purchasebiodieselfuelfromatrustedsupplierwhounderstandstheproductandmaintainsacceptablefuelquality.
TheuseofbiodieselblendsuptoB7willnotvoidtheCASECONSTRUCTIONwarrantyaslongasthefollowing
conditionsforbiodieselfuelhandlingandmaintenancearestringentlyfollowed:
Biodieselfuelmustbepre-blendedbythesupplier.Mixingbiodieselfuelson-sitecanresultinanincorrectmixture
thatcoulddamagetheengineand/orfuelsystem.
NOTICE:CASECONSTRUCTIONmayvoidyourwarrantyiftheproblemisassociatedwithpoorfuelqualitydueto
improperblending.Itistheresponsibilityofthefuelsupplierand/oryourselftoensuretherighttypeoffuelandblend
isdeliveredandused.
Storage
Themachineshouldnotbestoredformorethan6monthswithbiodieselinthefuelsystem.Forlongerstoragetime,
itisstronglysuggestedthatonlyregularEN590or#2dieselfuelisused.
NOTE:Ifstorageforlongerthan6monthsisnecessary,theenginemustberunonregularEN590or#2dieselfora
minimumof20hourstoushthebiodieselfueloutofthefuelsystempriortostorage.
Biodieselishighlyhygroscopicandtendstocollectwatermorethandieselfuel.Thisincreasestheriskofalgaeand
bacteriagrowthwhichcancauseseveredamagetothefuelinjectionsystem.Keepthemachinefueltanksandon-site
storagetanksasfullaspossibletolimittheamountofairandwatervaporsinsidethetank.Drainwaterfromthetanks
atleastonceaweek.
NOTICE:UseonlyCASECONSTRUCTIONapprovedbiocideadditivesonTier4bengineswithanexhaustaftertreat-
mentsystem.
