To set the time and date
1.While in the Timekeeping Mode, hold down

3.While the seconds setting is selected (flashing), press

B to reset it to 00. If you

B while the seconds setting is in the range of 30 to 59, the seconds are reset
to 00 and 1 is added to the minutes. If the seconds setting is in the range of 00 to
29, the minutes count is unchanged.
While the DST (Daylight Saving Time) setting is select-
ed, press

B to toggle it on and off.
While the 12/24-hour format setting is selected, press
BB
BB
B to toggle it between 12 and 24.
While any other setting (besides seconds) is selected
(flashing), press

B to increase it or

L to decrease it.
Holding down either button changes the setting at high
speed.
4.After you set the time and date, press

A to return to the
Timekeeping Mode.
The day of the week is automatically set in accordance
with the date.
The date can be set within the range of January 1, 1995 to December 31, 2039.
If you do not press any button for a few minutes while a setting is flashing, the
flashing stops and the watch goes back to the Timekeeping Mode automatically.
The current time for all other World Time cities are adjusted in accordance with the
Timekeeping Mode settings you make.
ABOUT THE BACKLIGHT
In any mode (except when making any settings), press

L to illuminate the display
for about 1.5 seconds.
The backlight of this watch employs an electro-luminescent (EL) light, which loses
its illuminating power after very long term use.
Frequent use of the backlight shortens the battery life.
The watch emits an audible sound whenever the display is illuminated. This does
not indicate malfunction of the watch.
The illumination provided by the backlight may be hard to see when viewed under
direct sunlight.

WORLD TIME MODE
The World Time Mode shows the current time in any one of 27 different cities. See
the “CITY CODE TABLE” for information about city codes, time zones, etc.
You cannot use the World Time Mode to change the time setting. The time, city, and
DST (Daylight Saving Time) on/off settings you make in the Timekeeping Mode are
applied to all the World Time cities.

DATA BANK MODE
The Data Bank Mode lets you store up to 30 name and telephone number records.
You can recall data by scrolling it on the display.
You can input up to eight characters for the name and 14 digits for the number. When
the name is longer than five characters or when the phone number is longer than
seven digits, the data automatically scrolls across the display.
The scroll operation continues for about two or three minutes and then stops. To start
scrolling again, press

When you enter the Data bank Mode, the initial screen appears first, followed by
the number of empty record areas remaining, and then the data record that was
displayed when you last exited the Data bank Mode.
If memory is full, the message “FULL” appears in place of the number of empty
record areas. When this happens, you can input more data only if you first delete
records no longer need.

Overview

This document describes the operation and features of a digital watch, Module No. 2128.

Function Description

The watch offers multiple modes: Timekeeping, World Time, Data Bank, and Stopwatch. It features a general guide for mode navigation and display illumination.

Timekeeping Mode

This is the primary mode for displaying the current time and date. It can show time in two formats: digital (with AM/PM indicator, hour, minutes, seconds, and day of week) and analog (hour, minutes, and a pendulum graphic). The user can select their preferred display type.

Setting the Time and Date:

  1. In Timekeeping Mode, hold down the D button until the seconds digits flash.
  2. Use the A button to cycle through the selection sequence: Seconds, DST (Daylight Saving Time), City Code, Month, Day, Year, Hour, Minutes, and 12/24-Hour Format.
  3. To reset seconds to 00, press B while seconds are flashing. If seconds are 30-59, minutes increment by one.
  4. To toggle DST on/off, press B while DST is selected.
  5. To toggle between 12-hour and 24-hour formats, press B while the 12/24-hour format is selected.
  6. For other settings (Month, Day, Year, Hour, Minutes), use B to increase or A to decrease the value. Holding down either button changes the setting at high speed.
  7. After setting, press D to return to Timekeeping Mode. The day of the week is automatically set based on the date.
  8. If no button is pressed for a few minutes during setting, the watch automatically exits setting mode.
  9. Timekeeping settings (time, city, DST) are applied to all World Time cities.

World Time Mode

This mode displays the current time in 27 different cities worldwide. It shows the hour, minutes, seconds, and the month-day-year for the selected city. A mode indicator and DST on/off indicator are also present.

Usage Features:

  • Press A to scroll through city codes. Holding A down scrolls at high speed.
  • Press B to toggle between date and time display for the selected city.
  • Hold D to toggle DST (Daylight Saving Time) on and off for the displayed city.
  • The World Time Mode cannot be used to change time settings; these are controlled by the Timekeeping Mode.

Data Bank Mode

This mode allows storage of up to 30 name and telephone number records. Each record can have up to eight characters for the name and 14 digits for the number. Data scrolls automatically if the name or number exceeds display length.

Usage Features:

  • Inputting New Data:
    1. In Data Bank Mode, press A until the empty record areas screen appears.
    2. Hold D until a cursor appears.
    3. Use A or B to input characters (A-Z, 0-9, space, /, :, -) for the name. D advances the cursor.
    4. After name input, use A or B to move the cursor to the telephone number area.
    5. Use A or B to input numbers (0-9, space) for the telephone number. D advances the cursor.
    6. Press D to store the data. A "SORT" message appears, then the cursor for the next record.
    7. If memory is full, a "FULL" message appears. Records must be deleted to add new data.
  • Recalling Data:
    • In Data Bank Mode, press A to scroll through stored records. Holding A down scrolls at high speed.
  • Editing Data:
    1. Display the record to edit.
    2. Hold D until a cursor appears.
    3. Use A or B to move the cursor and change characters.
    4. Press D to store changes. A "SORT" message appears.
  • Deleting Data:
    1. Display the record to delete.
    2. Hold D until a cursor appears.
    3. Press A and B simultaneously. A "CLEAR" message appears.
    4. Input new data or press D to exit.

Stopwatch Mode

This mode measures elapsed time, split times, and two finishes. The stopwatch range is 59 minutes, 59.99 seconds.

Usage Features:

  • Elapsed Time Measurement:
    1. Press B to start.
    2. Press B to stop.
    3. Press A to clear.
    4. Press B to restart after stopping.
  • Split Time Measurement:
    1. Press B to start.
    2. Press A to record a split.
    3. Press A again to release the split.
    4. Press B to stop.
    5. Press A to clear.
  • 1st-2nd Place Times:
    1. Press B to start.
    2. Press A when the first runner finishes (records 1st runner's time).
    3. Press B when the second runner finishes (stops the stopwatch and records 2nd runner's time).
    4. Press A to release the split (displays 1st runner's time).
    5. Press A again to display 2nd runner's time.
    6. Press A again to clear.
