Precise amplitude setting allows exact
adjustment of current in steps of 0.5 mA.
A key lock which prevents unintentional
changes in settings, ensures safe treat-
ment.
The stimulator runs on two 1.5 V AA
batteries. A battery indicator shows when
the batteries need to be replaced. If not
used, the stimulator automatically
switches off after 5 minutes.
When the stimulator is not in use the
cables may conveniently be stored
directly on the unit with a belt clip to
hold them in place (see picture p. 97).
The stimulator should be used with skin
electrodes for nerve and muscle stimula-
tion. These are either conductive carbon
rubber (used with gel and tape or
adhesive gel) or self-adhesive and come in
various sizes. Their conductive properties
deteriorate gradually and the carbon
rubber electrodes should be changed
after 4–6 months of use. The service life
of the self-adhesive multi-use electrodes
is strongly dependent upon their care
and they normally last about one month.
For instructions on use see electrode and
gel packages.
