IV.Troubleshooting
CoolingUnitRunsConstantly
Improperinstallation,inadequateinsulation,oracellarthatistoolargewillcausethecoolingunit
toruncontinuouslyandcannotbetroubleshooted.
The cooling unit is designedto turn on when the air temperature in the cellar rises ABOVE the
MinimumSetPoint+TemperatureDifferential,andturnoffwhentheairtemperaturefallsbelow
theMinimumSetPoint.Forexample,iftheMinimumSetPointis 58°F and the Temperature
Differentialis4°F,thecoolingunitwillturnonabove62°Fandturnoffbelow58°F.Inthisexample,
theaveragetemperatureinsidethecellarwillbe60
°
F.
Whenbottlesarefirstloadedinthecellar,thecoolingunitwillruncontinuously(evenuptoaweek)
untilthetemperatureinsidethecellarfallsbelowtheSetPoint.
CellarPro 3200 and 4200 Series cooling units are designed to maintain proper wine storage
temperatures inside cellars with adequate insulation up to 1500 cubic feet, depending on the
coolingunit,thermalloadanddesiredcellartemperature.
Hotweatherconditions,insufficientventilationand/ordirtycondenserfiltersmaycausethecooling
unittoruncontinuously.Toreducecycletimes,
1. Removeanyobstructionstoairflowtoorfromtheunit
2. Checktomakesurethecondenserfilterisclean
3. IncreasetheFanspeedtoHigh
4. Increasethesupplyofcoolairtothespaceoutsidethecondensercoils,usingafan,ducting
oranexhaustsystemtoremoveheatfromthespace.
5. RaisetheMinimumSetPointonthecoolingunit
CoolingUnitIsDripping
Thecoolingunitisdesignedtoremoveexcessmoisturefrominsidethecellar,whichcollectsinthe
drippanofthecoolingunitandisevaporatedbythecondensateheater.Excessmoisturecanoccur
whenthecoolingunitrunsconstantly,whentheMinimumSetPointistoolowand/orwhenthe
cellar doesn’t have a good seal from the outside environment. To eliminate overflow, do the
following:
1. Turn“on”thecondensateevaporatorswitch.
2. Ensurethecondensateoverflowdrainlineisnotblocked,thatthedrainlineistrappedand
thetrapisfilledwithwater.
3. Makesuretheunitisslightlytilted,withthefrontslightlyhigherthantherear.
4. Checktomakesurethecellarhasairtightseals,includingthedoor(s),lightfixtures,andall
walls,ceilingandfloor.
5. Turnthefantothe“High”setting.
