Usage Features

General Operation:

  • Auto Standby: The TV features an ECO-friendly power saving technology. If the remote control is not used for 4 hours, the Auto Standby feature will activate, powering down the TV after a warning message.
  • Initial Setup: Upon first power-on, an auto installation setup guides the user through tuning all available ATV and DTV channels and storing them. The Quick Start button can recall this menu at any time.
  • Source Selection: The SOURCE button on the remote or TV allows selection of various input sources (DTV, ATV, SCART, YPbPr, DVD, PC, HDMI, AV, USB).
  • Menu Navigation: The MENU button accesses the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu, with navigation using arrow buttons and OK for selection. EXIT closes the menu.

TV Settings:

  • TV Settings Menu: Allows searching channels, manual tuning (ATV/DTV), program editing (delete, move, skip, rename channels), and viewing signal information.
  • Picture Menu: Adjusts picture settings like Picture Mode (Standard, Dynamic, User, Mild), Contrast, Brightness, Colour, Sharpness, Tint, Colour Temperature (Medium, Cool, User, Warm), Red, Green, Blue, Aspect Ratio (4:3, 16:9, Zoom1, Zoom2, Just Scan, Panorama), and Noise Reduction (Off, Low, Middle, High, Default).
  • Sound Menu: Customizes sound options and effects, including Sound Mode (Standard, Music, Movie, Sports, User), Treble, Bass, Balance, Auto Volume, and Surround Sound.
  • Extras Menu: Sets time options such as Sleep Timer (10min to 240min), and provides access to PVR and PC Setup options.
  • Options Menu: Configures OSD Language, Audio Language, Subtitle Language, Menu Time Out, Country, DVD Setup, and Restore Setting (factory defaults).
  • Lock Menu: Enables Lock System (default password 0000), Set Password, Lock Channel, and Parental Guidance.

Multimedia Operation (USB):

  • USB Playback: Supports PHOTO, MUSIC, MOVIE, and TEXT files from a USB device.
  • Photo Viewing: Features include Repeat modes, background music, playlist display, info, rotate, zoom in/out, and move view.
  • Music Playback: Offers Repeat modes, Goto Time (program music to play from a set time), and Screen Saver mode.
  • Movie Playback: Includes Repeat modes, Set A-B (play a specific part), playlist, info, slow motion, step through, Goto Time, zoom in/out, aspect ratio, and move view.
  • Text Viewing: Allows navigation through pages and files, stop auto-turning, background music, playlist, and info display.

Recording Operation (PVR):

  • Start Recording: Press REC to start recording.
  • Timeshift: Press PAUSE to enter timeshift mode, pausing live TV and starting recording.
  • Stop: Stops recording or timeshift.
  • Lists: B displays scheduled recordings, A displays recorded programs.
  • Schedule List: Displays a list of scheduled recordings.
  • Recorded List: Shows recorded programs, with options to view info and delete.
  • Timer Record: Allows setting up automatic program recording based on channel, mode, start time, and end time.
  • PVR File System: Manages the USB device for recording, including selecting disk, checking file system, displaying USB disk state, formatting, setting time shift size, and displaying speed.

DVD Operation:

  • Disc Insertion: Insert disc into the slot, label side facing the disc slot. The player automatically draws the disc in.
  • Eject: Use the EJECT button on the TV or remote.
  • DVD Setup Menu: Accessed via MENU > OPTIONS > DVD SETUP.
    • General Setup Page: Configures TV Display (4:3 Pan Scan, 4:3 Letter Box, Wide), OSD Language, Screen Saver (On/Off), and Last Memory (On/Off).
    • Audio Setup Page: Configures Speaker Setup, Downmix (LT/RT, Stereo).
    • Dolby Digital Setup: Sets Dynamic compression ratio for sound volume control.
    • Preference Setup Page: Sets TV Type (PAL, MULTI, NTSC), Audio language, Subtitle language, Disc Menu language, Parental control (KID SAFE to ADULT), Password, and Default settings.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning: Clean the TV with a slightly damp cloth. Do NOT use solvents or petrol-based fluids. For stubborn stains, a damp cloth with dilute detergent may be used.
  • Power Cord Protection: Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched. Do not allow it to overhang table edges.
  • Ventilation: Do not block any ventilation openings. Ensure 5 cm (2") free space around the unit when placing on a shelf.
  • Battery Care: Do not leave batteries in the remote control for extended periods to prevent leakage or corrosion. Replace all batteries at the same time and do not mix old and new types. Dispose of exhausted batteries according to local regulations. Never expose batteries to excessive heat.
  • Disc Care: Hold discs by the outer edge and/or center spindle hole; do not touch the surface. Do not bend or press discs. Store discs vertically in a dry condition, away from direct sunlight or heating sources. Clean disc surfaces with a soft, dry cleaning cloth, wiping gently from center to outer edge. Do not use thinner, alcohol, chemical solvent, or sprays.
  • Troubleshooting: A "Simple Troubleshooting" section provides common issues and remedies. For persistent problems, contact the technical helpline.
  • Repairs: Repairs must only be carried out by qualified personnel. Do not open the unit as it contains dangerous voltages.
