The CHALLENGE 18V Li-ion Pole Cordless Hedge Trimmer is designed for trimming light foliage, hedges, bushes, and shrubs in private domestic settings. It is not intended for commercial or industrial use, nor for cutting non-plant material or branches exceeding its stated maximum capacity. The pole design allows for trimming hard-to-reach areas. The cutter head features a swivel function, enabling it to be locked in five different positions for versatile trimming angles. The telescopic handle further enhances its reach and adaptability.

Usage Features:

• Cordless Operation: Powered by an 18V Lithium-Ion battery pack, offering freedom of movement without the constraint of power cords.
• Pole Design: Extends reach for trimming high hedges and bushes.
• Swivel Head: The cutter head can be adjusted and locked into five positions: -45°, -22.5°, 0°, 22.5°, 45°, and 67.5°. This allows for precise trimming at various angles and heights. To adjust, hold the handle (D), push the lock button (E), and turn the cutter head (F) to the desired position.
• Telescopic Handle: The handle length can be extended or retracted by turning the clamping bolt (C) to "UNLOCK" and then to "LOCK" once the desired length is achieved.

Maintenance Features:

• Blade Lubrication: For optimal performance and extended life, the cutting blades should be lubricated before and after each use. Any lubrication oil can be applied to run between the two blades. Ensure the battery is disconnected before lubrication.
• Cleaning: The hedge trimmer should be cleaned immediately after each use to maintain performance. A soft damp cloth should be used; avoid water, chemicals, petrol, or solvents, as these can damage the tool. Special attention should be given to cleaning the cooling vents and ensuring the blade is free of cuttings and debris.
• Storage: Store the hedge trimmer in a clean, dry place, out of reach of children. Always fit the transportation blade sheath when storing the tool to protect the blades and prevent injury.
• Battery Care:
  • Charge the battery pack in temperatures between 18-24°C for longest life and best performance.
  • Allow hot battery packs to cool for approximately 30 minutes before recharging after continuous use.
  • Do not cover the charger or charge battery packs in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
  • If the battery pack does not charge properly, check the main socket, ambient temperature, and if problems persist, contact a service center.
  • Recharge the battery pack when it fails to produce sufficient power; do not continue to use it under insufficient power.
  • Do not immerse the charger in water or any other liquid.
  • Never attempt to open the battery pack. If the housing is damaged, return it to a service center for recycling.
• Troubleshooting: The manual provides guidance for common issues such as the trimmer not operating (check battery assembly and charge), battery not charging (check insertion and power supply), and trimmer not cutting properly (check blade condition).
